My circumcision for lichen sclerosus or BXO

Hi guys, Just thought I would post this here in case it might help others considering circumcision. I had it done because I had BXO or lichen sclerosus it was a hard time for me deciding what to do. Lichen sclerosis is a nasty condition it can destroy your foreskin and frenulum, it is also a cause of phimosis in some cases therefore it is important to have your doctor check if you have phimosis. it is very important to have it treated either with topical creams or with surgery. it's not something you can leave and hope it goes away.

I have posted a link to some photos. It can be hard going through with a circumcision and it can take time for everything to heal. I hope these photos help in some way I know when I was going through it, it would have been great to have a forum like this for advice.

if I can answer any questions I would be glad to.

Hey, thanks for the post. I’m 5 weeks now and just wondering if you remember your first sexual experience after the op and how long it took you to try. I haven’t done anything just letting it heal for another few weeks. Although I’m very tempted. Thanks

Hi it was about 5 or 6 weeks after i did take it very slowly though. I was able to masturbate within 2 weeks of the circumcision I can still remember the first orgasm it was mind-blowing. How is your healing going. I was very surprised at how quickly I healed up once it's started especially when the stitches were are gone. Take it easy at first and enjoy the new toy.

Did you have your frenulum removed? If so do you notice a difference of sensation?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to JonathanK

Hi Jonathan yes I did have it removed the BXO that I had started there and spread out. my frenulum got tighter and tighter over time and eventually it snapped one night but at least that released the pressure that I had. It was always a bit tight with me even before the BXO.

Yes I did notice a difference in Sensation after my circumcision it's hard to explain it's like I was super sensitive beforehand and would come if I just looked at it but now it takes a little bit longer which is not a bad thing.

I didn't have the option to keep my frenulum I don't know if it would have been better or not to keep it. I'm happy with it just as it is anyway it's not painful or sore anymore which is really good.

Just wondering Do you have problem with yours?

I hope that has helped in some way.

JonathanK profile image
JonathanK in reply to MrMac99

Yes it definitely helped! I personally had a small nick (didn’t tear) in my frenulum last December, and waited for it to heal a week or two before the urologist gave me steroids but now it’s rly thin and personally it seems like it will break when I have sex. I was wondering about getting a frenuloplasty/frenulectomy without circumcision.

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to JonathanK

Yeah man I understand I used to get those little nicks as well and soreness they would heal up in a week or so, mine got thinner as well. but at least you went to the urologist early and got the steroid cream that should help to loosen it up and make it more supple my doctor told me to use the steroid cream and to try and stretch my foreskin and frenulum and to massage it if you know what I mean regularly to keep it from getting tighter.

If you tried the creams for a bit longer and see how you go with that the frenuloplasty would work I'd say and you would be able to keep your foreskin.

I remember when my frenulum broke it wasn't that bad it actually freed it up for a while anyhow until the bxo got worse. So don't worry if it does break there are lots of guys going around with it broke.

Does your frenulum seem to be short when you are fully erect I mean would it pull down on the head of the penis and Bend it back mine used to be like that.

if you could post a photo maybe I have more photos from back then but I can't seem to post them hear.

JonathanK profile image
JonathanK in reply to MrMac99

Hey man thanks so much for the comprehensive reply! I do kind agree that the steroids might've helped as they eased the pain but to me it seems worse bc it's soo much thinner now :(. rn I'm not putting any cream on it as it seems too thin that I don't wanna make it any thinner, I'm sort of just waiting until I see my girlfriend in a month and if there's pain and discomfort I'll see about getting it removed or simply cut and freed. good advice about the stretching, I'm gonna look into that. good/bad news about that is afterwards I'll have two months until I see her again so I would probably be able to heal from any procedure.

I actually just made a post in this forum about it, if you wanted to check that (it's flaccid) you'll see what I'm working with. I will say that it doesn't at all pull my head down when I'm erect.

how long did it take to heal while fully separated?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to JonathanK

OK had a look at you post mine looked a bit like that one time it is a little bit thinner but I wouldn't worry to much yet if it's not pulling down on your head it's not over stretched.

That's a long time to wait to see your girlfriend in the meantime I would keep exercising it.

With me when it snapped is bled for a little while but it healed quite quickly there was some yellow stuff for a few days but then it improved.

I'll have a look for some of those photos and if I find them I'll PM some to let you see.

JonathanK profile image
JonathanK in reply to MrMac99

okay I'll try and take comfort in the fact that it doesn't seem to overstretched!! I'll be doing the frenulum stretches in the meantime thanks so much for you insights.

JonathanK profile image
JonathanK in reply to MrMac99

also what was sex like when you had the separated frenulum? were there still frenulum levels of sensitivity with the foreskin that could just move a lot further down? I honestly personally wouldn't mind losing a lil sensitivity in an effort to last longer myself.

Thanks again

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to JonathanK

It was fine there wasn't much difference really only that the foreskin would go much lower down I still had the same sensitivity in my head.

I remember I had one particular spot it was down the shaft maybe an inch from where the frenulum connected to my head it was very pleasurable. I am not sure if you have that I think they call it the male G-spot.

JonathanK profile image
JonathanK in reply to MrMac99

ah okay yes I definitely have that too, I'm worried about losing it if I have my frenulum removed. would it just slide with the rest of the foreskin during sex?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to JonathanK

Yeah that would be worry alright but you know where it is you could tell your doctor if he could save that area. I didn't really have a choice when I went for my circumcision with the bxo in that area. As far as I know frenuloplasty would release it from the top of your head and a frenulectomy would remove it.

The foreskin would still Glide in and out but not as much maybe and hopefully not as painful.

LASERUK profile image
LASERUK

It looks nice and clean to me and it's a very good length,do you find the head very sensitive now

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to LASERUK

Thanks man. it's not too bad I suppose.

the head is not as hyper sensitive as it was before. after circumcision the head desensitise to your clothes. but there's still good feeling it makes you last that little bit longer and the orgasms I find much more intense now then before but maybe that's just me.

Looks good

Are you happy with the outcome?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to

Thanks Jimbo. I am very happy with my outcome. It's better than trying to deal with the problems I had before it was done.

Hey man. I also have or had bxo... I’m still struggling almost 4 months post op. My penis is still really irritated at the tip (meatus) and it’s really red. I had sex once at the 3 month mark and it was kinda bad. Didn’t feel much and my penis was so red and inflamed afterwards... I thought I’d be happy and I really miss my foreskin and good sex.. but I know I had to also stop the spread of lichen sclerosus. I went back to steroid cream for a week and it helped a bit but my frenulum and tip of my penis don’t seem to want to move on or heal lol. I don’t find a lot of people with bxo!

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to ToonBlastChampion

Hi man. Sorry to hear about that.

but it is still early in your recovery how bad was your bxo did you have discolouration on your head and around the meatus and for how long did you have it.

You say that you have problems around your frenulum and meatus did you have a tight circumcision done either high or low and did you have the frenulum removed.

if you post a photo to me maybe it might be easier for me to understand I have photos from back then but I can't seem to post then here maybe they would work in the PM I don't know.

If you keep going with the cream maybe not every day and see how that goes.

Lichen sclerosus is the worst *****thing. I had the same dilemma do I keep my foreskin and maybe get worst down the road or get a circumcision and hope for the best I think I was lucky I come from a country that doesn't do routine circumcisions but my doctor new what he was talking about he understood the disease he explained the best way to go about getting the best outcome for me but he could not give any guarantees, I still have to keep an eye out for it coming back.

Everybody is different with there healing I healed up quite quickly even though I had to go back for a slight revision after 6 months to remove some extra skin from where my frenulum was.

Keep going with the cream for longer and maybe go back to your doctor things will improve just give it more time.

Hi man im might have to get a circumcision soon, becuase of bacterial problems constantly. And after trying multiple topical creams and antibiotics this is the last thing on the list to do. I have a few questions. From the picture i see you have a curve, i also do similar to yours did it change after your operation? Did you loose any length also? What type of circumcision it is? And is masturbation difficult? Was the sensation lost a lot ? Really sorry for the the many questions

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to draco54

Hi draco.

I understand lad lots of us guys go through this I had lots of questions to.

The curve I have didn't really change if anything is might have straightened a little bit I had a tight frenulum and that used to pull down on my head and to that side a bit.

No I didn't really lose any lent either the only thing was the foreskin I had had a bit of an overhang when I was flaccid. I did think at first it looked a bit shorter when it was flaccid but I think it was only the foreskin that was gone.

It is a low and tight circumcision the scar is about 1 cm from the head. My head is exposed all of the time.

It does take a bit of time to get used to masturbating the best way is to use lube you just adapt it's not a big problem I can do it without now if I want not as good.

Sensation I can't say that you don't lose any I did lose some the head desensitized itself it's hard to explain it's like the fine touch you lose I had my frenulum removed as well which is another area of sensation if you read my earlier post you will know I didn't really have a choice to keep it. after saying all that it's not a major problem for me it still works I last a bit longer and my orgasms are much stronger and more intense which is great.

I am Very happy with the choices I have made and really happy with the way it looks now even when flaccid.

I hope this has helped you in some way.

draco54 profile image
draco54 in reply to MrMac99

Yea thanks for the answers my biggest concerns are making the curve worse and loosing length but guess thats depends on how much skin the doc cunts

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to draco54

No problem man it shouldn't make much difference either to curve or length if your doc is experienced

draco54 profile image
draco54 in reply to MrMac99

Did the doc do something different because of the curve?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to draco54

No he didn't do anything different as far as I know. I always had a Curve that way I did develop bxo it was around my frenulum which pulled down and do that side and that made it worse but before I had my circumcision my frenulum snapped that then released my head. It then went back to the way it was before the BXO.

The dr then removed my foreskin and what remained of my frenulum in the circumcision and that's my curve today

draco54 profile image
draco54 in reply to MrMac99

Im laso afraid if the skin heals little bit croocked aswell but i dont think it can happen

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to draco54

Is your curve much worse than mine.

if you go to a Good Doctor with experience he should know how much to take away. I didn't have any problem with my Curve afterwards.

I think a lot of guys do have curves either one way or the other

I also forgot to ask is masturbation difficult? Does it hurt if you dont use lube ?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to draco54

That's no problem draco

Mastrubation is different you get used to doing it a different way you just use some lube I can do it without lube it's just not quite as pleasurable it doesn't hurt me.

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to draco54

Hay man

Take your time and don't rush into anything look at all your options and then decide what to do, what does your doctor recommend. I found it a hard decision to make as well, in the last few days I have been looking back at some photos from before and I love the way it looks now compared to before even when it is flaccid and even though I'm not the biggest guy around I am more confident in the gym changing rooms now.

You get used to the different way that is feels you just have to use a bit of lubrication and it feels fine I find that I last that little bit longer and I have a stronger orgasm.

draco54 profile image

Some docs are saying i dont need it some are saying theres a problem but not sure at the same time i constantly have some other bacteria on the glans and tried soo much stuff i dont know what to do anymore

Hi Draco, if you have so much issues with having a foreskin I would definitely get it circumcised. I was circumcised five years ago and couldn't be happier now. I am so glad that I took the plunge. Don't worry, everything just feels better when you're circumcised. Even masturbation. The direct stimulation of the glans feels amazing! I can only recommend it. You'll see, you gonna love it too.

Looking good mate, just wondering if u experienced sensitivity issues on the gland post circumcision . I had one done 2 months ago and I’ve been struggling with hypersensitivity, kind hurts when I try to rub the gland :/ . Any tips on this ?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to teng01

Hi there man. Sorry I didn't get back sooner had to get some sleep.

It can be very uncomfortable I had it for probably about 2 weeks it just diminishes then and one day you'll realise hey I'm not to bad today but even to today I would have to adjust some times.

I find that boxer briefs or the most comfortable for me they have a bit of support and if you could get the ones with no seam down the middle of the pouch happy days. It's the little things like that can make a big difference a snug Fit as well none of them loose boxes bouncing around the place.

That seems to be a good while to be hypersensitive did you have phimosis and could not retract the foreskin at all.

When I knew I was going to have my circumcision I tried to keep my foreskin back as much as possible I think that probably helped me with the sensitivity.

When you are masturbating use lube that should help I used to use bio oil I found it to be good and it helps with the scar as well.

It should improve overtime hopefully soon sometimes you have to grin and bear it to desensitize the head.

Hey man, so I believe I have lichen, and I am thinking about getting Circumcized but dreading it. How fast did the lichen or bxo heal? How long did you have it before the surgery? It just healed automatically after the Circumcision? Thanks for any advice its hard to find info about it.

ToonBlastChampion profile image
ToonBlastChampion in reply to Rx50xr

Hey I also have bxo and the surgeon should clear the scarring with the surgery.

So it should be better after circumcision but not all lesions will go away over night like you may still have to use steroid creams after the surgery.

Usually your skin heals within a couple of months but it might take longer because your skin is full of inflammation cells so it makes things harder to heal.

Good luck

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to Rx50xr

Hi there. That's good advice below the surgery should clear it from your foreskin and your frenulum if you have it on your glands usually the dryer environment with the circumcision and maybe some steroid cream should clear it.

I was dreading the thought of it as well and was really nervous on the day but I knew it had to be done my doctor was really nice guy he gave me some sedation that was it woke up an hour later done

For me the circumcision was not that painful afterwards it was more discomfort than anything I didn't do much for probably a week just let it heal for me once it started to heal it was quite fast.

I had the bxo for at least years before I went to my GP. The discolouration I had on my glands faded away in time it would be hard for anyone to find where it was now on my glands. I still have to keep an eye out for it in case it returns especially around the meatus.

Hope that helps you out.

How long did it take for your BXO or Lichen Sclerosus to vanish? Did you have the surgery while you had this condition?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to

Hi there. The reason I had the surgery was to remove the bxo. the foreskin that was infected was removed and any remaining discolouration I had on my glands faded in time because the bxo does not like the dryer environment when the foreskin is removed .

I had the bxo lichen sclerosus for at least 2 years before my circumcision.

I still have to keep an eye out for it in case it comes back but so far fingers crossed.

Did you ever suffer any negative effects mentally post op? And if so where did you turn for help? There does t seem to be anywhere I can find talking about this side of the healing?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99

Hi Anonduck, no I didn't really suffer any negative effects mentally afterwards it did take some time to get accustomed to it. my healing went quite well except for one bit that needed a slight revision.

I found it a hard time mentally beforehand deciding what to do but it was a kind of made for me with the condition that I had but I still had to make the decision for myself. this forum is very good for talking about issues with things not just circumcision if you put up a post asking the question I'm sure there will be some replies but there are some anti circumcision posters here which sometimes are not helpful if you are trying to decide or coming to terms with healing.

have you had a circumcision and are you having issues?

Hi. I was circumcised as a child but I elected as an adult to have a re-circumcision in order to make the skin super-tight and also to have a frenulectomy. Recovery was swift and sex has been so much better since. I am much more sensitive without a frenulum in the way and masturbation and anal sex are much better without any moveable skin. it was a simple decision for my partner and I to have our two sons circumcised in the same way. We are all naturists and there are no negative effects for any of us.

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to

Hi Peter I'm glad you had such a good outcome it's a interesting story you were done as a child you hear so many guys that's were done as babies or children and they resent it and blame their parents. I can understand that they feel it should have been there choice. and you had it redone and removed your frenulum I had my frenulum removed as well even though it was very pleasurable area before I had the circumcision I think it is much better now you do have to get used to the difference and using lube but for me now I think it is a lot better and I really like the look .

you had your two sons circumcised you had such a good experience it was always going to be the case if you had Sons that you would have them circumcised as well. I think if I had been done as the child I would not have had the problems that I had later on in life with the LS my parents and especially my mum were sorry that they did not have me circumcised but it was not a thing that was done in our family.

you seem to be a very open Family being naturists that's interesting I think it's not that common.

thank you for the comment here it's interesting to hear a good outcome from somebody who was done as a child you don't hear that, that often.

Yes it was pretty rare to be circumcised as a child where I came from. I was the only circumcised boy in my year at school and I got ribbed by the others at times but it didn’t bother me - I always thought mine looked nicer and I knew it was more hygienic. It was a no-brainer to circumcise our sons: my partner Natasha is also very pro-circumcision. Both boys are very happy being circumcised and they are also (apparently) the only circumcised boys in their classes. We are very open about nudity. We always stressed that there is nothing to be ashamed of. Luke tends to wear trunks now at naturist camps (he is 16) though not all the time, and never on beaches. We have never insisted on our children going nude - it is their choice. Sarah (14) and Nathan (12) never wear clothes in camp.

Incidentally I have never found the need to use lube for masturbation. I occasionally use it for variety, but not out of necessity!

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to

Thanks Peter that's an interesting insight into your life it's good to see such an open-minded family about everything. I wonder as you have gotten older have you lost any more sensitivity over time or has it stayed the same?

one of my friends was bullied in secondary school to because he was circumcised he doesn't talk much about it now, but he did tell me about it.

Has your family always been naturis were your parents maybe.

I often wondered when I am on holidays if I went to a nudist beach would I have the nerve🤔 as I get older I find I don't mind as much about nudity maybe next holiday I will😊.

After nearly 6 years of being circumcised I find I don't always need lube now anymore it was a help at first. I do still use it sometimes I find it is more pleasurable.

We like to think that we’re open-minded as a family. We’re not perfect - we have our arguments like any family. Fortunately they’re never about circumcision or naturism!

I don’t feel that I’ve lost any sensitivity.

Sorry your friend was bullied. I don’t feel that I was bullied- just teased a bit - and the boys think the same. But to some people being called roundhead and cutboy in public might be termed bullying of course.

My parents weren’t naturists but I always preferred to be nude from as young as I can remember. I didn’t wear trunks on beach till I was nearly 11 and that was only because one of my elder brothers told me I really had to now I was going to senior school! I first went nude again on a beach when I was 18 and haven’t looked back. Natasha was already a naturist when I met her so it was easy to continue and we agreed that we would continue with our children. We are nude a lot - we tend to be nude in the house if it’s warm enough. We were quite active in naturism before we had kids - writing articles in H&E magazine and stuff. We still have photos in there occasionally but less frequently than in the past. We’re almost always on beaches with our children now so obviously photos are a no-no.

There’s certainly nothing to be worried about on naturist beaches. People tend to be very pleasant and non-judgmental. You might find yourself the only circumcised man there - our boys and I often are. The only issue might be if you were by yourself - some people think single males on nudist beaches are there for the wrong reason - but I don’t think anyone would judge anyone who was behaving themself! I certainly hope not!

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to

Thanks Peter that's good to know that your sensitivity has not decreased over the years. was your brother circumcised as well and do any of your siblings practice naturism as well?

My friend was actually physically bullied and tortured at that secondary school it was in a boarding school some of the older boys picked on him just because he was a junior and a little bit different.

Oh that’s awful about your friend. No, our boys and I have never experienced anything like that.

My brothers aren’t circumcised and nor was my dad. I am an eighth Jewish but I don’t think that had anything to do with it. My mum said that she thought it would be beneficial and of course she was right, hence our decision to circumcise our sons. My brothers were quite surprised when we said we were going to have Luke circumcised and suggested that we shouldn’t (as did their wives). But we knew it was the right thing to do. They didn’t bother saying anything when we told them that Nathan was about to be circumcised!

My brothers aren’t naturists and think our lifestyle is funny but they don’t have a problem with it.

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99

Hi Peter that's unusual that you were the only male in your family to be circumcised usually I think it runs in families if your son's have boys in the future I'm sure they will have them circumcised

just wondering what you think of my cut is it similar to yours and your boys?

I very much hope that my children will have their sons circumcised. We were all discussing this a couple of weeks ago and Luke was quite adamant that he wants any boys of his own circumcised. Sarah and Nathan were in general agreement but of course there’s still plenty of time for that to change. It could depend on the view of their future partner, particularly Sarah’s if he wasn’t circumcised.

Your cut looks very nice and neat. My cut is a little further away from the glans penis. We chose for the boys to have high circumcisions so theirs are further back. Yours looks tight but I can’t tell if it is as tightly cut as ours. I have no skin movement at all and it was our plan for the boys to be the same. Their penises certainly look like there is no skin movement but I can’t be totally sure about that.

Sorry - just seen your photos of you flaccid. You have a very nice penis with a good cut. The boys and I are definitely circumcised more tightly. I spoke to them about it earlier this evening and they both say that they have no skin movement.

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to

Hi Peter, that's ok you hadn't seen them you must be cut really tight I thought I was fairly tight but I would have a little moment not much when I'm erect though. you and the boys are cut higher but very tight would you have any bunching up when you are flaccid then?

Did you show the boys my post?

And thank you for the complement that's appreciated.

in reply to MrMac99

Yes, we are all circumcised very very tightly! I asked the circumciser to make me as tight as possible and asked the boys’ circumciser to do the same (the boys had the same man). We have no bunching up when flaccid - when erect, skin moves on to our penises from the pubic areas and scrotums with no discomfort.I showed the boys your posts (and our whole conversation). I showed Luke all your photos, but not Nathan (he is 12 and although he is used to seeing penises, including erect ones, it didn’t seem quite right to show them to him). They both find it all very interesting (as do Natasha and Sarah). We all agree that you look very good - it’s certainly not a loose circumcision!

I had quite a chat about things with Luke. As mentioned above, I asked him (and Nathan) about skin movement. When he started going through puberty at 11, we discussed a few important issues. One of them was masturbation. I told him that he may find he needed to use lube because of his tight circumcision and gave him some to take to his room. I’ve asked him a few times since if he needed any more lube and he’s always said no. We talked in more detail tonight and he says he hardly ever uses lube.

I had a similar chat with Nathan just under a year ago and gave him lube. He told me today that he didn’t need any more. So it is clear that, despite what some anti-circumcision people say, lube is not a necessity post-circumcision.

Luke shaved off all of his pubic hair for the first time yesterday. We are off to Spain for a few days naturism tomorrow and he wanted to experience what it was like. He is intending to go nude even when in camp. We have friends there from past holidays and some are Luke’s age. They don’t go naked anymore and Luke has felt it was a bit awkward being nude when they weren’t, but he’s now saying to hell with it! I am so pleased - he seems really dedicated to naturism.

Really enjoying our chats by the way.

It's obvious that you and the boys have a very good relationship with each other and your wife and your daughter you are all very open-minded.

You are cut very tightly but I suppose your skin will always adopt and stretch a little so as to not make it uncomfortable.

I find I don't need to use lube now as well although just for a difference it is nice to use sometimes. I do like to keep things tidy they're so I do keep it trimmed I hope Luke hasn't got sunburnt😊

Hey man brave to post up but looks like it went well, I am due for a consultation soon and my condition is pretty bad and no improving, sex is almost impossible atm so circumsion is the only option I feel.

However trying to find out about recovery is sound like a pretty rough time

How did you find it, how long until you were close to healed. Also did you go private or through nhs so many tales of botched circumsions seems scary to me.

Any advice appreciated

Just wondering if you had any updates what did you do after?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99

Hi there, sorry to hear you are having some problems is it lichen sclerosis you have? It's good that you are getting your problem sorted it doesn't get better if you leave it.

I was lucky my recovery went quite well I know some guys don't be as fortunate. the first week is probably the worst but I had no real pain just some discomfort. A little swelling some ice for that. I had all my stitches out with in 2 weeks my wound was healed within 3 to 4 weeks but I would say it takes up to a year for your scar and glans to feel normal again. I did have a slight revision 3 to 4 months after i had some excess skin at my frenulum and we were not sure if there was some lichen sclerosus there still.

I went to private clinic for my circumcision there was quite a wait for the Health Service.

Recovery wasn't bad for me at all I was lucky I feel I had no real complications I know some guys are unfortunate with complications afterwards. if you have a problem and especially if it's lichen sclerosus you need to have it sorted.

I hope this answered some of your questions and if there's anything else you need to ask that's no problem.

All the best

Hi Man, thank you for your comment I was lucky it turned out ok after having surgery for lichen sclerosus.

Cutman in reply to MrMac99

It looks fantastic both hard and soft and it's great that you have no loose skin at all. Is the underside smooth where your frenulum was ?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to Cutman

Yes it is smooth all my frenulum was removed it was affected badly with LS I would have some bunching behind the glans when completely flaccid.

Cutman profile image
Cutman

I like how it looks flaccid no bunching behind the head no hiding you are circumcised. Do you have any webbing from your scrotum up the underside since you are cut tight

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to Cutman

There's definitely no hiding 😁I do have some bunching behind the glans when I'm really soft but I'm mostly exposed all the time. I don't have any webbing just a little if I pull the skin up a lot but not really. hope this answers your question

I’m 2 weeks post op now, I also had mine for LS although not confirmed by biopsy. I’m hoping mine turns out as well as yours looks in this picture. My scar line is going to be as close or even closer to the head too. I’m just waiting for some movement in the stitches, no sign yet! Have you seen any changes in your scar line in the last year since this photo? It’s been good seeing how other lads have coped with surgery and recovery.

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to UKlad1970

Hi Man, sorry to hear about your LS hopefully you are rid of it now it's not a very nice condition to have. They need to remove most of the Inner foreskin once the stitches are gone you will heal up much faster they can be very annoying I removed most of mine. I haven't noticed any changes to my scar since. I have a different post up you might be interested in reading some of it and some different photos.

Hi mate, thanks for the reply. I’m hoping as it was just on the foreskin it’s all gone, fingers crossed 🤞. I’ll be keeping an eye out all the time now though probably. I’ll look at your other post. Thanks again.

Cutman in reply to MrMac99

Yes it does thank you nothing better than a totally exposed head . Can I ask what you full erection angle is does it point straight out or up high? And do you need to use lube when masterbating

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to Cutman

Hey Man, I sopose when I'm fully erect it points upwards somewhat and I have a bend to the left. I don't have to use lube all the time but it does feel better when I do use it.

Cutman in reply to MrMac99

Sounds great I'm the same only use lube occasionally. Has the flair of your penis head expanded since your circumcision

It definitely looks like a well done cut!

Hey Mac,

Thanks for sharing man.

This stuff is so poorly documented online. I’m 27 and currently looking at circumcision. I’ve had LS since I was 16, but lately it’s progressed. I was wondering if you had any pictures of your glans before surgery? I’m hoping the circumcision removes the discolouration, it would be good to have a benchmark to see how much you recovered I.e before surgery and 6 months after.

Thanks again!

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to Movingonup

Hi Man, sorry to hear about your LS you've had it for quite sometime. I suppose it depends on how badly your glans are discolored for me it was mostly on my foreskin. I did have some around the frenulum and patches on the glans. if you click on my profile there is a different post you can have a look at. Hope that will help. have a read through it and if you need any answers let me know.

Hey Mac,

One more question; I had a consultation today, thus the questions. I didn't realise there's different types of circumcision... High and right, low and loose, normal etc...

I was wondering if you had a specific type done, if so was it in England?

Best,

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to Movingonup

Hey Man, there are several different style you can choose from my own would be similar to a low and tight but could be lower and could be tighter if you get me there is a big variation it's down to the surgeon and individual really. I had mine done in Ireland. how did you get on with your consultation?

Movingonup profile image
Movingonup in reply to MrMac99

Okay, good to know - thank you. Consultation went well, it's looking like I am going to go ahead with the operation. Seems to be the only thing that will work.

I am not sure how much reading up on the subject everyone has done, but I have been looking into alternative methods that aren't hugely documented; there was an Italian study which used some form of a (very low powered) laser treatment that produced good results. I am looking into this more and cross referencing with my consultant, so will let everyone know outcomes/thoughts. Happy to share more info privately, do not want to promote on this thread as not everything you read online is "credible".

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to Movingonup

Yes I think in your case you have had the LS quite a while now and I'm sure you have tried different treatments if they don't improve things the only thing left would be having the circumcision. In my case it has been quite successful in clearing up the LS. I have read a little about that study in Italy before I'm not that familiar with it now it was only very new study when I was dealing with my LS.

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to Jhon21

Hi there the scabs should fall off in there own time when they are ready. The stitch should have dissolved by now they probably have underneath the skin have you tried to help it a little any scabs can hold it in place. I would wash with some salted water it should help with both things a good soak in a bath would also. If you have any discharge or redness from either I'd have it checked out.

MrMac99 profile image

The stitches should dissolve eventually but if they are concerning you see your doctor or practice nurse and have it removed. Any ends that are sticking out you can trim them. You can sleep in any position that makes you comfortable you should be fine.

I love that MrMac is still replying these years later! - Pretty sure I have BXO, 21 from England, devastated but reading all your replies helped me get outside my head, as you said “shit happens, you just gotta deal with it”. Suppose that’s true enough! Hopefully going to get into the GP in the next week or so!

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to LudwigG

Hey Man how's it going shit indeed dose happen that's life. So if you think you have LS or BXO you should definitely get it checked out with your doctor. Do you have some discoloration to the skin or phimosis?

LudwigG profile image
LudwigG in reply to MrMac99

I’ve got some white patches on my glans and my inner foreskin is pale, not hardened or anything though. There was slight tightness starting but I used some anti fungal cream and it seems to have stopped any and all cracking / tightness

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to LudwigG

How long have you had the discolouration for? See what the doctor says they might give you a referral. you probably should talk with a urologist or dermatologist.

LudwigG profile image
LudwigG in reply to MrMac99

Can't pinpoint for how long, maybe just a few months?

Went to a GP yesterday, He thinks it might be thrush, I asked him why he thought that instead of BXO, and he said that BXO is far less common than Thrush, and it must have seemed somewhat like thrush to him, so he put me on Canesten HC Clotrimazole & Hydrocortisone acetate, which is to be used 2x a day on the area for around a week until I'm next due to see him.

Hoping it is thrush, as I do not want any surgery.

This is my 2nd day on the cream w/mild steroids, and I haven't noticed too much change, but there is an increase in peeling on the inner foreskin where the skin is pale/white. Not sure if thats a reaction to the cream, or it actually taking effect, which is concerning.

I'm one to constantly check the progress every few hours expecting some miracle difference. But I know changes can take anywhere from a day-3 weeks, so i guess I have to bide my time.

My father has diabetes, so I guess they believe I could be at risk of it too, I went for a blood test today just to check (Why not, right?) - If I do have diabetes, I guess it could explain the symptoms I have? though I doubt it. I'm not overweight like my father was, though Sugar is my best friend :L

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to LudwigG

Hey that's great you have seen your doctor that's why I asked how long you had the pale colour to your foreskin /glans if you had it a long time it's more likely to be BXO a yeast infection or fungal infection is more common so it's more likely to be this especially if you are sexually active? The two conditions can be quite similar looking sometimes. The doctors will always treat you for yeast /fungal first anyway.Hopefully it is just thrush or a yeast infection be patient though it could take a couple of weeks before you see an improvement. Also definitely no harm to get tested for diabetes as it's in your family and can cause problems there.

All the best for now keep us posted!

LudwigG profile image
LudwigG in reply to MrMac99

I am not sexually active >:( Yeah, he's currently treating me for thrush, Its good to know that it could take a few weeks before seeing an improvement; I'm one to expect improvement within hours haha!

Definitely panicking over the lack of instant improvement I've seen the past 2 days. However, it has only been 2 days.

I started to try and scrape away at the white marks on my glans, and some of them eventually budged and came off slightly. It seemed to be just like dead skin that hadn't moved, and from the little bit that I did manage to move without hurting myself, I felt a little better.

I don't know if its wise to slowly chip away at any of the white patchy areas if i'm able, so i won't do it too much; however worried that if I don't show improvement it'll be for the chopping block x_x

I've been taking pictures of it each day to try and track improvement, and there is noticable improvement from D1, however i'm not sure if thats just because of lighting or not :L

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99

Not to worry anything with the skin can take a while to improve. on less the dead skin is loose I wouldn't touch it too much you don't want to cause any scarring just keep it clean and dry if you can keep the foreskin retracted it would help although when you're using cream you don't want it to rub off🤔.

you're a long way off the chopping block so no worries😂. I find when talking photos to compare taking them in natural light is best.

LudwigG profile image
LudwigG in reply to MrMac99

I managed to remove like 90% of the white marks on my glans, there’s like 2 small white patches but I won’t go near them. That’s basically all I could do tbh!

Inner foreskin is white about halfway down, it’s like 1-2cm of a whiteish partial ring, and realistically that’s all I’m worried about now :/

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99

That's great and it looked ok underneath. so just see how it goes then and hopefully it will continue to improve. The paleness on the inner foreskin is kind of in the skin? And you have no tightness with a phimotic ring?It just a waiting game now to see will it get better it could take some time keep the cream on as the doctor prescribed.

Hey Mrmac,

Hopefully you’re still active on here, reading your forum and what happened to you has helped. I was diagnosed with LS when I was 19, I’m now 25 and it’s so much worse and I’m heading into a private clinic to get a full circumcision.

Originally it was just a red ring around my foreskin, now it’s affecting my frenulum and my meatus opening is quite inflamed and itchy. I was wondering if you had these symptoms too and if circumcision cured it? As I’m quite concerned now it will head into the urethra.

Thanks !

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to Youngdoc

Hay Man how's it going I'm still around not as much but I will answer if someone message me.So you have it 6 years or so now and it gradually progressed have you been on steroid cream in that time?

For me I didn't have much inflamation at times it might flare up it was mostly the skin turning white with me the frenulum eventually broke and it spread out for there to the foreskin. My meatus had some patches to I still have a little pale area but it not active now the circumcision has cured it or maybe I should say I'm in remission but I'm good now and I don't think about it everyday like before my circumcision.

So all the best with the op hope it goes well when are you getting it done and what clinic are you going to?

If you have any other questions that's fine

Youngdoc profile image
Youngdoc

thanks for the response! Yes I’ve been using clobetasol throughout. For long periods of time it’s been maintained, recently though it has turned for the worst and my urologist said I need the Op.

That’s great news, reading situations like yours gives me hope so thank you. Beverley clinic in London, fingers crossed it goes well! I’ll definitely have a few questions after wards.

All the best!

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to Youngdoc

That's no bother at all I understand it's a worry and happy to help out. the steroid cream will only maintain the LS or slow it down if it doesn't improve then it's best to consider circumcision. I had a look at the clinic it looks fine and good reviews I'm sure you will be just fine and in very capable hands.

Youngdoc profile image
Youngdoc

hey MrMac,

I hope you’re well! It’s been about 6 days since my circumcision now. Due to night time erections which are currently very painful, the stitches have opened up in some areas and there is an open wound. The clinic said this is normal and they will close themselves - yet, they’re very painful and look quite wide which may lead to bad scarring.

I was wondering if you had any problems like that and if it was resolved after a while?

Thanks alot!

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply to Youngdoc

Hi Man all good here thanks. That's great you got sorted with the circumcision! that's fairly common that the stitches can pull out when you have an erection at night time make sure to pee before you go to bed sometimes Sudafed decongestant can reduce erections an sleeping in the fetal position as well but it's not always possible. there's nothing much you can do about the opend wounds they can't restitch it but it should heal up okay with secondary wound healing it will just take a little longer. I did have a couple of areas which opened up as well healed up fine in the end I'd recommend you keep it dry and clean it's important to keep infection out I'd wash with some salted water in a small bowl and dry off with a hair dryer if it's weeping any keep it bandage this will help keep it clean and salted water will help disinfect the area.Hope all works out ok for you Man!!
