If you mean you had a diagnosis of meningitis and had symptoms and now, none at all? Everyone reacts differently I think, some people have symptoms or are left with problems for months and even years, others recover very quickly. All I would suggest speaking from personal experiences is, if you had a diagnosis of Meningitis and therefore had some inflammatory changes in your brain or spinal cord, be very careful and dont assume you are completely well and normal. I think I convinced myself that |I hadnt had it at all as soon as I started to feel better, then found to my dismay I began to feel quite ill when I ramped up my activites.

No i meant i was not officially diagnosed I had extremem back pain and head ache an i did not know what it was at one point i was on the verge of going to the hospital and i had sensitivity to light as well as nausea but i took a hot shower and after a couple days it slowly passed until now it has been probably 6 months since it happened. I only came to think meningitis because i was talking to a friend about it and he suggested the meningitis and from the symptoms i had it all points to it but from what i have read i would not have been able to recover without any medical help?

I'm confused. Did you diagnose yourself? Did you think it was VIRAL Meningitis, therefore ending w/o antibiotics?

If you thought it was BACTERIAL, I would think you would have been in EXTREME pain and probably would have actually DIED without medical care.

Did you diagnose yourself because you were "really sick"?

Do you mean you didnt have a medical diagnosis of Meningitis and you self diagnosed? You may be one of the lucky people who recover fully and have no after effects, but it seems most people whether they have viral or bacterial Meningitis do have after effects lasting from months, years,to permanent.Like Canada says you should take care and take things very slowly.

If you mean that you think you had Meningtis but didn't have a definite diagnosis, then maybe it was juts a bad flu??

yes i was not officially diagnosed it was not till months after that a friend suggested spinal meningitis which i had the symptoms but from what i've read i would of needed medical assistance so that is why i was wondering if i had it in the first place or can it lie dormant only to flare up at another time when i have a weak immune system??

always go to a Doc, if you think you may have VM, then go ASP, bless your friend for telling you that, but unless they are a Doc, thank them, then go to a doc.

Rules

Never self diagnose yourself

Never listen to mates only a doctor

And never read on line about illness tried that once and had everyone i read LOL

So if you feel ill again DOC DOC DOC's :)
