Help for after Meningitis

My name is Fredy, I was born in Peru, but for problems in my country I moved to the USA, now I live in New York. In 2012 I got meningitis, 2 weeks in comma, when I woke up from coma, my brain was gone, after that took me like 4 years to understand something, now I "just" have headaches and constipation, I used "just" because I was having a serious medical disorder, no longer , some is some. from wheelchair to walk again, I believe I improved a lot, thanks for your support I got better, I remember when I was reading you, I was crying and reading, I know how hard , sad, etc .. is the journey to recover some. I appreciate that.

Then I showed up again when my girlfriend went to the hospital for bone marrow transplant in Paris, she has 1 year 4 months, still in the hospital, but feeling better.

Now, I have a question and asking for help, I have a friend in Peru, who I found it after years thanks to the quarantine, and he told me, that he had meningitis bacterial in 1990, he was recovering for 2 years but always weak, in 2009 he was diagnosticated with syringomyelia, he went to Cuba for a surgery, but he got worst, now he is in a wheelchair, and feeling worst , he commented me that "drowning the spinal cord reaching the cervical causing massive rupture of the rotator cuff, now also has syphosis with chronic pain". In Peru, there is not treatment for that, Please friends, if there is a treatment for that in your countries, let me know, I would like to help my friend, at least with 1000 dollars, and the airlineticket, please, let me know, when I see him, I see myself and remember all that I went trough.

I see no one has responded. I am in the US, 2 years post bacterial meningitis. Most of us have found the physicians don't understand the long term care and problems. It sounds as though your friend is in the unfortunate position of acquiring an additional disease and needs medical care and not a support group advise. I wish you well.
