Hi everyone I'm super new to any of this so hopefully I get it right.

I was diagnosed VM 2 weeks ago but my symptoms have gone on for 5 weeks now. None of the doctors I've seen have figured out what caused my VM. I have done test after test to try to figure it out with no answers. The doctors have all said three weeks is the duration of VM but I'm going on 5 wks with no signs of the pain letting up. Medicine isn't helping, some of the natural remedies I've tried aren't helping either. So my first question is what helps with the pain? I honestly don't know how much longer I can handle it.

Second question is where can I find more information on VM as far as what symptoms should I watch for that would indicate that my condition is worsening?

Thanks everyone!

And has anyone experienced depression and anxiety after getting VM?

And what about eye problems? I am going to a specialist soon because my optic nerves are swollen and my eyes are hemorrhaging from the VM. What was done for you if this has happened to you too? I'm really scared because I know nothing about this. I was told it's something that will pass but mine isn't. It's staying constant.

Hi. It doesn't just go away. I am 5 weeks out and still on pain killers. Have bad fatigue. Can barely walk some days. And still get mind fog. Ignore when people tell you that you should be better. Accept you aren't well and go slow. It will get better but no one can tell you when. Good luck. Xx

Thank you for this post. It's been 4 weeks for me since I got diagnosed with VM. Last week the doctor told me my liver needs to improve after 2 weeks being spent on an IV drip which I'm hoping gets better, however I can't seem to stop taking painkillers yet as my headaches are still there and really struggling with fatigue, it's re assuring to see that I'm not the only one....

I have good days and bad days...and usually the bad days or if I've tried to push myself (like go for the smallest walk ever)

I was getting annoyed with people telling me it would be a slow recovery however it's true....it can be just so frustrating but I'm trying to come to terms with it...x

Hi there, please read my daughter, Rosie S's Story on this site. She, like you was in a terrible state post VM for near on two years, but after having some cranial massage sessions, from a cranial osteopath, she is pretty much cured and feels back to her old self. It's the only thing that worked for her after trying antidepressants and varied painkillers. This has been such a recent breakthrough, that she has been in local newspapers and now a radio station would like to interview her in order to spread the word. Wishing you luck with your recovery. Xx
