I have returned to work but certainly not in the same capacity as my pre BM days. There were some skills in my work that I could previously do with ease but that there is no way I could do now. For example, I did all our PAYE for years and years and years but try as I might I just don't understand it at all. It's like double Dutch to me ... and that really is no exaggeration.

After just over 2 years after a bout of severe viral meningitis, my family and I had to make the tough decisions that I was unable to go back to my previous line of employment due to some of the continuing after effects. Having been employed in a highly stressful telecommunications sales role, it became obvious that I could not return to this. The years out of work have had a massive impact on us and my partner has returned to full time work and I am now currently full time Daddy Day care to our wonderful young daughters.

This disease has changed our lives forever. I will always say this is the worst and best thing that has ever happened to me. Worst because it nearly took me away and the devastating effects that has had on my family and I, but the best because I have found a new me, a new life and new goals. Meningitis Now are an amazing charity and to be part of their family is a real honour. Thank you Meningitis Now for everything you do for me, my family and for all those others effected directly or indirectly by this horrendous disease.

Dave.

Maybe it had something to do with my age the fact that I couldnt return to work. I was 66 when I got Men and Sep and nearly didnt make it. I have lots wrong with me now.
