Why don't they use antibodies from cured Corona patients to make a vaccine?

Dear Anyone. I take it those who recover from Corona - most victims! - have developed antibodies against the disease, hence the recovery. So why not get samples of their blood, mass-replicate the antibodies and use the antibodies to help other victims by just injecting them into the victims' bloodstreams? Antibodies can be used between different people, it's been done before. I don't understand why nobody's doing it now.

Can anyone explain it to me?

Yours puzzledly

Chris.

You make it sound so easy but I’m sure it’s rather more complex than that. I’m sure the world experts are doing everything in their power and working extremely hard to get this under control. They are currently working on an antibody test which can take months or years to get right so it’s probably best to leave it to them. I understand you only want to help take care and stay safe.

If they were, or are doing this, it would take time. Even with our annual flu vaccine, the manufacture period takes about 6 months and it's not a 'new' vaccine, it's one we have waiting.
