Scan update

Hi guys, so right to it - we got blood work Thursday of last week and it came back lovely except his liver enzymes were slightly elevated. (AST and ALT) luckily not enough to put a stop to treatment. Watchful eye though. He received his treatment on Monday - but before treatment he had an appointment with his oncologist who had the PET scan results in her hand. I am always FaceTimed in to these appointments because of the COVID protocol I am not allowed with him. I am so happy to report - that this time, we genuinely have a CLEAN NED scan guys. It was read by the head nuclear radiologist because of the mishaps we have had. And in detail - it shows no evidence of any avid metastatic melanoma! We are continuing with Keytruda - and his oncologist is actually opening and starting a new clinical trial and she has another treatment option under her sleeve just in case we need it. I believe the clinical trial involves Keytruda plus ipilimumab. Other trials have tried nivolumab and ipilimumab - but not Keytruda with ipilimumab. I will get details of these other treatment options and let you guys know to see if it’s something that could be useful to the community. But right now me and Ryan are over the moon with these results. I hope everyone is doing well and as always love hearing updates from you guys.

Love from MD xoxo

Outstanding news for Ryan, and with careful review by department chair of the scans following earlier debacle is good news that has reliability. Good for you both.

ClinicalTrials.gov listed this related to IPI/ Pembro (Keytruda) combo trials:

1. clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show... Phase II Trial of open label use of Low dose Ipi with Pembro for melanoma with brain spread.

2. Research article with first 22 patients in this protocol: ascopubs.org/doi/abs/10.120...

Peace,

Missy

Ah thank you missy! I wasn’t there so I couldn’t hear great. I know that ipilimumab tends to be a lot more harsh on the body then the newer therapies. Dual therapy hasn’t worked for him in the past toxicity wise..
