Anybody tried magnesium injections?

Just out of interest?

I feel my magnesium uptake is pretty low, despite taking a few supplements a day and having regular baths in epsom salts.

I've read that often injections are recommended but, obviously, these aren't available OTC in the UK. So just curious whether anybody had and felt the benefits?

I did feel a significant benefit from the first few. Thereafter, the magnesium solution would not disperse properly, leaving lumps in my thigh muscle. It didn't matter how much I massaged them.

Other ways you can take in large quantities of Mg are detailed on Dr Myhill's website. I haven't tried absorbing via my nebuliser, but that is one option she talks about.

Mostly, I just try to take as much Mg citrate powder in water as I can manage through the day. It dissolves better in hot soups and stews, especially if there's a good bit of cream or other fat in there.

I'll check it out, thank you. Just had a treatment plan sent from her this morning and she suggests I basically double my dose of mag. I'm reluctant to increase oral tablets too much as they have a tendency to upset my stomach but I have bought Mg powder recently, so maybe that's the way forward!

My son found magnesium injections and B12 injections made a huge difference to his ME/CFS symptoms

I think he had a 1 ml loading dose of each then .5 once a week after that for about three months, then just monthly ongoing

Thanks. Good news. What was the thinking behind your son being injected with Magnesium, as opposed to taking it in tablet form? Are you in the UK?

I’m in the uk, in Somerset. He saw a naturopathist who did blood tests not available on the NHS which showed his ATP ADP axis was compromised. He had lots of supplements including magnesium and B12 injections, Co Q 10, zinc and used D Ribose to help with energy. He also took natural thyroid extract but this wasn’t supported by the NHS. He went from housebound to college in six weeks, so a remarkable difference. He is much better now but still suffers relapses when stressed.
