Lunchtime run wow that was hard

β€’Distance 16.70 km

β€’Pace 6:57 /km

β€’Time 1h 56m

After an aborted attempt last week due to watch failure πŸ˜… I decided to have another go at a 10 Mile run today.

After my 5 min warm up walk off I went. As I jogged along I realised that even though my Samsung Health app was talking to me it wasn't telling me when I achieved each kilometre. Luckily the route I took I had run before so I could guess where I was up to 6K. After that I had to work out my Kilometres covered by the time I had run as I guessed I would be running at about 7.5mins a kilometre. I carried on running and eventually checked my mobile which I had set to record my run on Strava and I found I had done 12.4K. I just needed to run home on the 6K route and I would have achieved my goal of 10 Miles. Eventually I had covered 16.7K and found my legs were like jelly but hey I had done it. I can't tell you how happy I feel this evening as I sit resting after my mammoth run.

Ohh and how do I get my 10 mile badge please admin?

Congratulations on completing your first 10 miles run, to get your graduation badge and the words 10 miles next to your username tell the administrators that you have ran your first, 10 miles run.

Fabulous! Congratulations - that's a great distance (especially if you already tried so recently too!). I hope you treated yourself to a nice rest after that!!!

Looks like you ran on the Portway Nannyshirl! That’s one of my favourite long run routes too; it just eats the miles up. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Really well done on your epic 10 miles. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ πŸŽ‰

Reminds me of my most recent run: I couldn't rememer the details of the route from two months ago so ended up running through the middle of Yate shopping centre.

I see you have a shiny new badge now!

I spent a Sunday morning last September standing in the middle of the Portway (as a marshall on the HM).
