Yay.. 10miles and a happy run with jelly babies my new running buddies πŸ˜€

Lovely happy run at my happy comfy pace this morning. Set off prepared for a long run but happy to cut it short if I needed too. New route kept me delightfully distracted as well as knowing I had jelly babies but had to have will power to not eat them in first 10 minutes. Ran around wetlands and Poole harbour and a country park. Lots to see, lots of cyclists and runners out and about. Weather was ok and rain didn’t start until towards the end. A bit warm and rather sweaty but ok. Finished at 17km. Legs a little heavy by then but not too bad. My lift home let me down so had a soggy 1 hour walk home in the rain but it was ok. Kept my legs going and quite enjoyed it ... happy running everyone...πŸ˜€

Woohoo! Congratulations!!! 10 miles -that gets you a shiny new badge! Sounds like a lovely run and there was clearly lots left in your legs for a long walk home. I've come to enjoy a walk after a long run - so long as my feet blisters aren't being too unreasonable 🀬

Niiiiice Wimborne, how amazing is that? The jelly babies clearly helped. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’₯πŸ’₯

A one hour walk home though? πŸ˜©πŸ˜±β˜”οΈ

Thank you CC. Jelly babies were great and took phone and drink too so all sorted... and I took loads of jelly babies thank god as I scoffed those walking home.... took ages too. Mr W is in the dog house. Being extra nice to me today. Had I known he wouldn’t answer his phone I would have turned round earlier.

Whoop whoop, very well done Wimborne, 10 miles is a distance to be proud of and you even exceeded it πŸ‘πŸŽ‰

I would have been cursing being let down on a lift when you were miles from home, your feet will be ready for a rest this afternoon!

Watch out walking down the stairs in the morning, your thighs may be feeling a little achy πŸ˜†

Thanks R and I think I was too happy with my run to even grump about the walk home. Mr W is in dog house a bit and he’s being extra nice ... will string it out for as long as I can. Hoping tomorrow won’t be too bad on those thighs... I am office tomorrow with many many stairs !

Lol, good luck with the stairs 😏

That's quite a run, congratulations, but what a walk home! I used to live in Poole when I first graduated, it would never have occurred to me to run around the harbour in those days - more fool me! (I assume you used the ferry to complete the loop? Unless you threw in a bracing swim!) Gah, now I'm missing it! I still have the recipe for Dorset apple cake though, so all is not lost 😁

Hi GOG... I ran across the new bridge between old Poole and links to hamworthy , through cobbs quay and then back up into the back of Upton Park. It’s the first time I’ve run around the harbour too... already planning a reverse loop for next time.... but will work out that I get further towards home than I did today at least. And I love Dorset apple cake .. especially when you are sitting overlooking lulworth eating it.

I saw your beautiful badge and thought you'd done it before as I knew you were close!! So well deserved though. That is a landmark distance 🎽

Oh blinkin' wonderful Wimborne!! You are definitely back and in a humongous way!!

And the news is that Jelly Babies help Achilles tendons recover (well, the gelatin does anyway and it's any tendons/nails/hair etc but that's just detail) so they are a health food 😁

Marvellous!

Thanks TC.. and the fact I can eat jelly babies as a health food just made my day better πŸ˜€

Whoop whoop Wimborne, I told you you could do it, and to run around Holes Bay must be lovely.

I don’t think I could have waled an hour after running 10 miles though. Thank goodness you too plenty of JBs.

You now deserve a good rest, but that’s probably not possible with a family to sort out.

Ah thank you. I drive past holes bay every day and always thought I would run it one day. And you are spot on. No rest for me.... shopping for lights then dog walk... currently on track for 40k steps today !

10 miles! Wonderful - congratulations on a fantastic run πŸ‘πŸ˜€. Not sure about the long walk home though!! 😬

I used to live in Poole. Visiting family we sometimes stay at the Travel Lodge near the RNLI and I have run around Holes Bay to Upton House - a great place to run 😊. I hope you like your shiny new badge πŸ˜€

Great run, Wimbourne. Really inspiring. I am due to run my first 10miler on Sunday but definitely do not intend to walk an extra mile home! Off to buy more jelly babies...

Hi RU and thank you... thankfully this year has been good to me and building back up to distance has been slow but steady and found my pace so to speak. Good luck for yours too. And of course don’t forgets those JB. They are fab company.

Never say never I guess... one day I may do my own little HM trotting away with my jelly babies... will sort out a proper lift home if I do though. A 5k walk home at the end wasn’t planned !

🀣 you will be tired but a good 10 to 20 minutes walk after really helps recovery. Just don't tell Mr W
