Hi Everyone, Delighted to say i completed my first HM today. Attached photo shows the Magic Shorts with there medal. As you can see i lost a bit of condition during the race but a bag of chips and a glass or two of red should soon do the trick. I finished the race in 2hr 29 so nice and steady. I was so tired at the finish i forgot to stop my apps so they both show 5 mins longer. LOL. I started C25K last November i can't believe my progress or how lucky i have been with injuries. Thanks for all the encouragement from all 3 forums. It can be done. Happy Running Everyone.

Congratulations to you NrFox001 on completing your first HM this morning, well done. 😊 🏃

To get your graduation badge and the word Half Marathon next to your username leave a message on the pinned posts on the right side of the June healthunlocked Half Marathon home page and tell the administrators that you have ran your first Half marathon.

That is not quite how it works - we have a permanently pinned post here on this forum for requesting badges for any month (10 Miles, Half Marathon, Marathon, or Ultramarathon) 😊

But I am going to save you the trouble, Mr Fox, and award you your Half Marathon badge right now!!! xxx

Congratulations on such a good time! I love Compton Verney - I didn't realize that they hosted any running events. I might have to travel over for that another time.

Thanks for the message. The event is lovely starts and ends in front of the House at Compton Verney runs through the Park then up Spring Hill through Kineton out towards the Banbury Road back through Radway up Pittern Hill (described as "Cheeky", not what i was thinking!!!) and then back down to the Park over the lake and Finish. It's run by Tempo Events do give it a go.

Thank You Yes it is a lovely place and just brilliant for a first HM. I would recommend it there's only 2 decent Hills and the finish over the bridge on the lake by the house really inspires you to give it that last extra push.

A bit far away for me and HM is too long, but I have been to a 60th birthday party in the house and love the Capability Brown gardens.

Hiya Yes more or less got the odd ache behind the knee but that's more age related it goes away when i run. I gave myself an easy week and have 2 short runs planned for next week 6k and 8k. Then gradually increase. I have entered the Rugby HM in late October and 2 10k's Stratford in Sept and Alcester in early October. May as well crack on whilst i am able, fingers crossed. Drinking lots of water and less Gin and Wine has helped.LOL
