Going for Gold... my one year of running.

So today I managed to complete my 365th run in my runstreak... so a year of running every day for me. Now- I do not recommend this unless you have been running for a few years and feel it could work for you... So, I decided to do it as I had felt the need for a long time to work out WHEN I was going to fit my run in whether than IF as I have a very busy life and I spent too long procrastinating. It gave me no choice. I do alot of slow one mile runs and these are incredibly restorative after full on days at work etc.

Mostly I go out very early in the morning. I have a theory that the first light brings with it energy and positivity, although the last few weeks have been full on darkness!

So today I set out wearing GOLD, I wanted to wear something to mark the occasion but I knew it was cold so I improvised alot. I took to the streets listening to 80's music.... Simple Minds, Pet Shop boys, INXS and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. I ran smiling, crying ( it hasnt always been easy), singing and dancing. I shouted hello to Princess, my daughters horse, and I ran down the middle of our local streets throwing my arms in the air and singing. I had a few gawps but I didnt care!!

I love running ( can you tell?!!), its my go to, my happy place, my therapy. I will continue to do this until such a time that I am not able to physically, and I feel so blessed that I can...

Spandau Ballet? :)

This is so cool, I love it - jolly well done!!! I must try and find my gold necklace to wear in your honour when I go out later.

You have reminded me about the joy of early morning runs, and I will be seeing a lot more dawns (and a lot more runs) very soon!

Here's to your next 365 :)

Well done that's excellent work and something you should be proud of.

I have tried run streak's know how hard it can be to fit in and just on the body, so very well done.

What colour next year? maybe even a tattoo!

What an amazing outfit! I love your philosophy of WHEN, not IF. I particularly love morning runs this time of year, when the sunrises are quite spectacular, so I agree that there's nothing like the positivity of a morning run.

You're an inspiration to us all!
