First back to back run days

So I did the first back to back runs as indicated by the myasics HM plan. Went faster than I should have on the 5k yesterday ( they wanted 8.5 min/km and the slowest I got to was 7) and about average today (6.56min/km). Did not love it but it was nice to get out and run guilt free today. :) I suspect I will want to leave a gap day in between next week though. Shins were quite sore, though they feel ok now. Probably should have gone slower yesterday. We will see.

Slow phase is leg building. The phases are all on your info sheet. It gets faster. Don’t ignore the build up 🙂

Yes it makes sense. I just can't run or jog to 8:29 - unless I am walking :) I could manage 7:30- 8 I think - I will try to really slow down for the next 5 back to back next week. Right now I am at the going further phase.

Yes, I'm getting there slowly :). Wow, you didn't give yourself much of a breather after your marathon, you are right back into another plan! I guess its probably the best way to do it so you can maintain your ongoing structure. That's a looong way from where I am at :)

I think learning to run slower is going to be the hard part for me, tried a couple of times and found myself speeding up without realising.

How many weeks is your plan over?

Yes its always been a problem for me for short runs. Long runs are another story :) My plan is done in January (early Jan if I stay with the mid range plan and late Jan if I move to the easy plan.) My race isn’t until at least March so I guess I’ll just continue the last section until then when the time comes. Still need to get through the winter ❄️

I've been looking and found a 10 week and a 14 week plan

I had a full week off running but I was dog walking and I did some beginner’s yoga. I have only done two 5k runs, and one 7k today so a gentle reintroduction. Mind you I have a 10k race next Sunday 😃
