Two out of three ain't bad, and heading for third base

One of my new years resolutions (or running targets) was to cover 2017 km during the year. Maybe I'll be adventurous and increase it 2018 km next year!

Mission accomplished as of yesterday's dark and not particularly pleasant run.

Still on track for the stretch objective of 1,500 miles before the end of the year, although there's precious little contingency in the year-to-date total. I'm hoping this target will help with motivation as we're now quickly heading into the cold, dark, miserable period that surely is meant for hibernating instead of this foolish running malarkey.

Very good well done, I just hit my target of 1000km which I was quite happy with it will mean at the end of the year I will have ran further than any previous year.

But now you have told me you have done double what I have done it doesn't seem so great!

Congratulations Tomas! Job's a good un 👍😃🏃🥂

Did you get your annual total off Garmin?

I ran in torrential rain tonight going to collect my race number and tee for my weekend half marathon. I put the lot in a bag and placed it in my run jacket. By the time I got home the whole thing was a sodden lump, as was I 😁 Drying out the race number at the moment . It has a timing chip attached 🙄 My nice new tee soaking wet! Tut

The totals as well as the nice graphs are courtesy of Garmin.

Sounds like a pretty "interesting" run miss W. The kind of interesting I would prefer to avoid *lol, but I know you're made of sterner stuff than me. Hope the race number survived!

WELL DONE!! The 1500 miles is almost done! Setting targets for the year is a brilliant motivation. It is addictive though. I set a 1000 mile target for 2017 which I thought was a good, realistic target. I reached it in late June though so thought 'why not change it to 2000 miles?'. I'm on 1785 so far, so it I've similar distance to you to complete before 31 December.

2,000 miles? Wow, that is a LONG way! You've done great, and I hope you manage the last remaining 215 miles by the end of the year - nearly there!

I looked in Garmin. I found my total for twelve months but it was split into months, bar graph wise, but where's the grand total mileage though? Doh 😕🤔

Yes, I have that same bar graph. To get the circle view with a total and a target, click on the great big plus sign at the bottom of your dashboard. Select "goals", click the plus in the top right corner of the goal box, fill in the goal screen that then appears with a name and a total mileage you want to hit, and finally click "save".

Oh, come on now, Tomas. Who would possibly want to spend lovely winter inside, tucked in, with a glass of vintage scotch and some pleasant music, whilst icy winds are battering the nature outside?

On the evidence, not us ;)

Maybe a 4 months break would cure a lot of ailments. Your description makes it very tempting... :)

Amazing, well done for your self-discipline! No excuse for not running at night for you, you have lights.

Thanks Tomas, as per 😁

For the year so far I've run 1192.38 kms which is 740 miles 😃👍

Still got this weekend's half marathon and a marathon and a few other races before the year end so it'll be interesting to see what the final total will be.

Thanks Tomas! You got me excited about sums 👍

That’s all that marathon stuff you keep doing.....😄....

Foolish running malarkey? Hide from the weather? What is this thing you speak of......never heard of it......🙉🤔
