Please feel free to share your runs here and chat about how it's all going,

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy week,

Juju and Realfoodieclub

:)

Thanks Ju and RRC πŸ™‚

Training for upcoming half marathon and marathon continues. It's going okay and I enjoyed a lovely trail run yesterday. Still a bit slower than myasics plan but I really don't care. I plan to get to the start line in one piece πŸ˜ƒ

Well done and thats always the right way to approach a race!!!! :)

I too am continuing the existing training. I've got a 10 mile race on Sunday which I'll treat as a practise run for the far more important HM on 29 October, where I will attempt to meet my 2017 HM target time (which may turn out to be a bit to ambitious).

Work remains busy, and I'm finding it difficult to free up time for the mid week runs.

ooo well done and good luck on the 29th.....

I'm torn between tapering and continuing my existing training. I'll probably go for the latter. There's a Parkrun anniversary this Saturday, so I don't think I'll be able to resist going when I'm in London.

I was walking through St James's Park yesterday and thought of you. Such a beautiful place for a run, good luck on Sunday!

Aw, that was really sweet of you. Thanks! Have been sitting here reading race reports.

sounds good... I did a London parkrun once, it was soooo busy but so friendly too :)

I'm too excited to run

pfff, just because of that second rate mara down near Essex? As if anyone even rated that event. Waste of time if you ask me.

lol - just joking of course. I'm green with envy!

I have a sore knee :( It's tweaking under the kneecap, and I think it's also pulling down the outside of my thigh. Very unhappy. I was supposed to do a 7k on Sunday, which I didn't do, I am supposed to do an 8k today and a 5k tomorrow. I will do a teeny little joggette today and see how it goes, and I have a visit to my chiropractor on Thursday anyway. I am a bit concerned (to put it mildly) about my upcoming event next weekend. I have also had to turn my freezer off so no ice.

Sorry for whingeing :(

That's not whingeing! You have every right to be concerned. Take care of yourself!

Thank you!

Aw poo :( Rest it up and read "Running like a girl" to it, I'm sure it's make it get better. If not, sock it with a G&T (ice on knee, G&T in you).

Anniemurph profile image
AnniemurphHalf Marathon in reply to mfamilias

I was cautiously optimistic after a short run, but now it's achy again. G&T is is then! Thanks, Mfam :)

Here's hoping the witch doctor comes up with the right voodoo dance tomorrow. Tommorow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow (cue "Annie" flashback).

Oooh, that doesn't sound good. Be careful - better to rest a day now than rest a month later.

Anniemurph profile image
AnniemurphHalf Marathon in reply to Tomas

Thanks, Tomas. I was supposed to run 8km today but stopped at 4km because I wasn't convinced all was well, although oddly the knee was better running than walking. It's achy again now though, but mostly when I sit and do nothing - must be a sign!

hey dont be sorry, that isnt whinging, it sounds like you need that looked at..... ouch :(

Anniemurph profile image

Thanks, Ju. I have my first ever sports massage booked for today now :O

I would do the taper. I think the body needs it. You want to be race ready and that means going steady in the immediate run up

Sorry to hear work is putting a crimp on things Tomas. Looks like more torch light runs for you πŸ™‚ I was going to say dreadmill runs but couldn't bring myself πŸ˜πŸƒπŸ’ͺβœ”οΈπŸ‘

Oh rotten ell Murph! What a crock of poo that is ! You can buy ice from the offy these days (fancy thatπŸ™„) Ice is great for inflammation I hope your little jogette goes off all right today shug. Fingers crossed πŸ™‚

Anniemurph profile image

Good idea about the offy, Wobble - thanks! The run was sort of okay, but I could still feel it at 4k so I stopped and came home. hopefully the chiro will work her normal magic. Bah.

Well you gave your legs a spin at least. Hopefully the chiro will hit the spot πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Hello all! HM My Asics plan wen to pot at the end of August when I put running on hold to take care of my neighbours. Only really got back to being able to run regularly last week, so I've binned the MyAsics plan (couldn't run 14k after having missed out on three weeks of training) and am concentrating on getting back out there for regular runs to ramp up distance and improve fitness. I've signed up for the Ronhill 'run every day' challenge to do that. Then I'll set up a new plan for the beginning of November and hope that life doesn't chuck me any more banana skins.

why does life have to get in the way of running!

mfamilias profile image

A very good question :)

ju-ju- profile image

That sounds like a great plan.... I am on day 269 now, I am just glad I have been able to keep at it through having an ongoing issue with my ankle! ( via osteopath guidance)
