Hi dcsurbiton. I have wet amd and have Eylea injections (every eight weeks now. They tried to stretch it to ten weeks in between but after the first attempt, found that I'd developed some fluid behind the macula again so I have had to go back to the eight weeks). Is your condition the same as wet amd? I am very interested in the supplement you mention - turmeric, ginger and black pepper - can I ask what you take (the name of it) or is it a fresh preparation you make for yourself? Hope all goes well for you.

Extremely sorry, had not accessed thsi site for long. I used to take rawe ginger with food and raw turmeric with pepper on empty stomach in the moring. Also left milk, red meat, sugar and other goods that are imflamatory items. Last few months were very trying for me as my wife left me 9 months back and that was very very stressful. I styopped all and that resulted in bleeding again and currently ion lucentic.

I have started my dietary plan again and hope that bleeding will stop. I did not take anuy injectyion for two years prior to that my diet must have helped in some way or others.

I also took lots of spinach, vitamin C (natural), and indian spices. I shall note4 all and update you all later on sometime this week

Hi dcsurbiton. I am very sorry to hear of your upset and obviously that woudn't have helped, I really hope that things improve for you greatly in the future. My eight weeks only lasted once and they discovered that I still have leakage so it looks like it's every six weeks again now. That's OK as long as it doesn't become four weeks again!! Look forward to your update.

Hello dcsurbiton - you have found a link between your condition and the food you eat. I am convinced that these links do exist, but hardly any notice is taken so far as sustained trials are concerned. I have dry AMD, and experiment all the time trying to reduce or even clear the mistiness that gathers with increasing light. So far I find that red meat and cheese seem to make things worse, so I've stopped both. We use all three of your ingredients in food, but would that be sufficient? Do you prepare a fresh mixture daily? How much of each?

All fresh and turmeric from root. I have also recently started growing turmeric at home. Incidentally you can get organic root turmeric in COSTCO too. Scrap Turmeric root ( approxc 1 to 1.5 CM depending on thickness and chew it with pepper .

Firsdt time, it will taste odd but as you start taking it, will be OK. But please speak to your doctor as long term use may dilute your blood slightly and if you take aspirin or similar medication,, it may duplciate efforts. Please consult your doctor if you take aspirin and otherwise too

You raise an interesting point.I have personal experience of the benefits of ginger for the lungs and stomach, and turmeric for the joints and tendons. So I believe you may be onto something if they have further benefits when adding black pepper.I wish further studies were done with natural products in general, but there is no money in it !!!!

Turmeric by itself is difficult to absorb and without pepper, it just passes through the system. It seems pepper acts as catalyst and helps in increasing curcumin absorption

Thank you dcsurbiton - this is the kind of personally observed detail that I mean. I assume the ingestion of modest amounts of turmeric with black pepper helps against the mistiness I referred to? We occasionally use turmeric in curry mixes, so I will add it (with pepper) to my daily intake list - which so far consists of half a walnut, the equivalent of one square of dark chocolate, and a cherry tomato. And an AREDS2 gelule! I don't have any blood problems. I don't know if it affects the mistiness much (one never knows what it would have been like without) but over the few months I've been doing it there's been a marked improvement in 'feeling well' and in energy level. Nothing miraculous or spectacular, but definite.

Another thing, deep breathing or pranayam is good too as it seems the weak blood vessels grows due to lack of enough oxygen supply
