Eye Central Vision

Anyone can help ? My right eye central vision is blocked by scar/inflammation cause by some kind of disease which causes spiky or swelling in the eye central vision area. All the doctors to date were unable to find out the cause of the disease despite all types of tests done. The doctor last resort was to use steroid which managed to clear up the central vision. However, when I was off steroid for about 4 weeks plus, the disease came back again, blocking my central vision. Anyone has came across this similar cause ? Please help

I had central vision loss in one eye, originally diagnosed as Presumed ocular histoplasmosis syndrome. May in fact be related to being a high myope.

Previously the treatments available were surgery or laser (both not great). Now injection or Avastin, Lucentis or Eylea can help in some cases. Not fun but seem to help many. Use an amsler grid (one eye closed at a time to view) to better track vision issues. Best of luck!

Thank Scrmom for the input. My case might be also due to high myope and other causes which the doctors and tests cannot find out what the diseases are. My right eye is -1800 which is considered very high. Initially, the doctors uses Lucentis as they think it AMD. Have been using amsler grid to keep track of vision also.

Reading yr post wish I could help but unfortunately I 'm going thru another eye condition ..shame the specialist haven't come up with something that could help you...the way I dealt with my eye problems (even though different than yrs but am v high myopic -25R,- 14 L latest refraction measured at Moorfields Eye Hospital )went privately for second opinion in this country ,travelled abroad and privately again visited a specialist ...interestingly enough the specialist abroad came up with a solution for one of my eyes it sounded very possible he explained all risks etc ...i got all scans prints from there will take them with me to the NHS specialist this Wednesday will be interesting to see what he 's going to say ...i also looked at alternatives like supplements ..I don t want to sound patronising I know how difficult it is in all levels with what u are going through but when my eyes went bad i started 2 supplements grapesheed, and turmeric which focus on inflammation as well as few others ...also top it up with homeopathy .....please by no way am trying to convince you in any way what I did is right for you but sometimes and in some cases looking outside the "box"can support us ...i sincerely hope u find yr way for a treatment which can at give you more hope and future with yr vision ..all the v best
