It is 2AM and I have just woken and looked across at my bright digital clock readout to see what the time is. My right eye feels a little like I have been swimming and have water in it - but the digital readout is bright in the darkness and I can read it quite clearly without my glasses on. For some reason , I placed my hand over my right eye and the vision remained unchanged , a bright digital readout readily readable in the darkness. I then placed my hand over my left eye and the digital readout virtually disappeared. I can see a faint row of LED light but that is all.

Night vision??
Hi Bazza1234. Sorry to hear you are having problems with your night vision. I have given up driving at night because my night vision isn't good now. I have wet AMD in my left eye, so I guess it affects us all to a greater or lesser extent.
Hope that hepls.
Hi bazza, I'm guessing the right eye is the one they want to inject?
If so the disappearing numbers is due to the fluid they found. Think of it like a curtain blocking light. It's more obvious in the dark. It's actually how I discovered my own eye condition when I mentioned it to my optician! The inj should help.
If it's not the eye being injected then the effect should clear quickly - I often get a watery blurriness in my ' good' eye first thing as if it's slow to wake up but then it's fine.
You should ring your eye clinic for proper advice though as they know your condition. They won't mind.
Yes - they have said that I have fluid behind the retina - it is the eye that I was referring to, the "good " one is fine. I only posted about it because doing the left eye, right eye thing during the day only really reveals a slight blurriness from the right eye. But doing it at night with the digital clock is VERY different and there is a big difference between the two eyes.
At least you know there is definitely a need for the inj. But it's a scary thing I know. There's a good chance it may improve and the inj should stop it worsening. The amsler grid is the thing to use to check in daylight although it won't be as dramatic.
I believe fluid behind the retina can happen in many conditions and treatment options do differ depending which you have ( eg I have brvo and had inj but now am having steroid implants which don't work for wetmd). You need to know what they have said your condition is called. That way you can properly get a grip on it all. Best of luck going forwards.
