I think it is a little better today. but am very worried that I won't regain the level of sight I had, before the injection. This never happened on the previous injections.. I am naturally very worried...

Thank you, RP1944, It has improved, but it is still sore and blurry. I will go back to the consultant tomorrow Monday 12th.... Just can't help feeling upset and nervous, till I know no damage occurred...... Thanks again

Thank you ..... RP1944

Hi Alanis70, my vision always gets blurry after inj but clears within 24 hours. Ive never heard of the inj making vision worse permanently. Ring your clinic if you're concerned, they will be happy to help you.

Thank you, eyesright........ I went back to the consultant next day after injection, He suggested my eye may have developed an infection, He applied and gave me an ointment ..... I will go back tomorrow " Monday". The weekend stopped me going back sooner..... It is still more blurred than it was prior to the injection...... Thanked for your reply

Dear Alanis70,

Please do not hesitate to contact us on the Macular Society helpline as needed after today's hospital visit .

In addition, we do have a free telephone counselling service. This can be particularly useful in the coming to terms stage. We need the individual’s consent in order to be able to refer them. It takes a counsellor a maximum of a week to make the initial call. Our counsellors are fully trained and the majority have sight loss themselves. Sessions consist of approximately 6 of around 45-50 minutes each. I am copying a link to our booklet Emotional impact which references the counselling service:

Just to make you aware, we are currently offering free 6 month membership. This is a good way to keep up with current developments. Please ring us if you would like to benefit from this, or join via the following link:

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further help. The Macular Society helpline is open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday on 0300 3030 111.

Alternately, you can contact us via:
