A doctor can give you a monthly injection (Avastin) (Lucentis) and, in some cases, can preserve and improve your vision as much as possible. Hope that helps.

I couldn't read in January and had improvement as soon as started injections- I have to continue as still some oedema- depends on individual progress I think

Hello Sue,

The main purpose of injections for wet macular degeneration is to stabilise your sight.

Improvement in sight does however occur in about 30% of patients, but this usually occurs statistically after the first 2 injections.
