i had a real bad experience with "the drape" and have just been told they have withdrawn it and using a less sticky type at my clinic ......great news ...x

That's good for you jjnan. My clinic don't use any kind of drape (although I know the Royal College guidelines suggest it).

I am glad for you, jjnan. That is one problem less. Every little helps, as they say! Our clinic uses drapes. The first one was very sticky indeed and was sort of torn of my face, but all later ones seemed alright. The only thing is, they cut the slit for the eye while the drape is on my face and I have visions of the dr cutting into my eye while he is feeling his way around. It is always an ancious moment for me amongst all the others.

interesting- I've only had two but the slit was made before they used it so seems different in different clinics

oh no...no wonder your anxious, surely thats not safe! glad the very sticky ones are not used for you now xxxx

I have had the drape, not sticky BTW, simply ripped open by hand twice. At least 60 of my 65 shots have been without any drape being used. Occasionally, a single drop,of anaesthetic is placed im the other eye.
