i was going to go to this hospital but it would have cost me £1000.00 to have all my bloods taken etc so too expensive for me but some of the doctors work in royal free cant remember thier names and i believe also at st thomas's which has a nhs lupus centre.

there is no cure for lupus so for me anyway its a delivery thing and how you get on with your doctor. which you can always change or in my experience they can drop you lol x

good luck sorry i dont know the answer to your post just a personal comment

I go to the London Bridge Hospital as a private patient but I see Prof. Hughes. Its all very efficient though, bloods done and results within 5 days. I am pleased with my treatment.

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately Prof. Hughes is fully booked until the middle of January. The only consultant available is is Mr Andrews ? I have an appointment for Friday 16th November.I am hoping that I can at least get some answers to my questions. So looking forward to going.Keep well.

How did it go today at London Bridge? Were you able to make it and was it helpful?

Hi Purpletop,

Found Mr Andrews very knowledgeable regarding lupus etc. Said that my lupus is under control at the moment but was stumped with some of the symptoms I have been experiencing.! Have had more blood taken and am going to see him again next Friday. The Sciatica I have at the moment could take 4 months to heal. Rest, rest.lol x

4 months! Has he told you things you didn't expect?

No not really. I was told it would be 4 to 6 weeks for it to heal.It did not feel as if it was healing, although the pain is not as intense as it was last week. Rest, rest. lol.

Take care.

Hello tintin,

Try Dr D Cruz at St Thomas, he also practices at London Lupus Centre ( London Bridge Hospital ) too. He is brilliant. I have been under his care for nearly 15 years and I can honestly say that I have had the best care ever. Dr D Cruz and his team of support staff and nurses are so proactive and thorough. Try to get your gp to refer you. I know he sees patients from as far away as Devon (you end up speaking to other patients whilst waiting) and they make the journey in despite the pain/inconvenience it causes. Good luck! xx

Hello browneyedgal,

Thanks for replying. I did try to see Dr D Cruz as I had heard that he is very good . Unfortunately he is booked up until February. The only consultant I could see quickly was Dr Andrews. i am hoping that perhaps he will be more helpful than my local rheumatoiigy clinic.Take care. x
