Methotrexate

Is anyone on Methotrexate and how do they find it. Any advice would be helpful

I was on this for 9 months 2 years ago. I felt sick the day I took it. But after that I felt great. U have to get bloods taken regularly to check liver function etc. unfortunately my liver didn't like it- and went up to 3x normal levels. Not on it anymore!! A friend is on it for RA & has never felt/ looked better & he has no issues with liver levels. x

hello witch2, I swear by this stuff. I take it once a week, 1.0 ml injection, and I feel 80% better. I can really tell when I DONT take it. I reccomend it, but like AlisonM said, have regular blood work, to make sure it doesnt hurt more then it helps. along with my steriods, its really made a diffrence.

I was wondering what symptoms you have found it has helped with you. This has been suggested to me too but I have reservations about it. Do you take other drugs on top- currently I take prednisolone and hydroxychloroquine. I seem to get lead legs most of the time. What do you find it doesn't help with? It is good to hear it helps you. Hi thanks for your replies I am going to be carefully monitored 2 weekly blood test to start and I have to take frolic acid with it too. Have had problems with a lot of other medication so fingers crossed that this drug will help me.

Ive suffered really bad taking methotrexate but they insist on me taking it. Im just about to start the injection as the tablets make me sick so hopefully it works.

Hey, when i first went on methotrexate i didnt think it helped me at all i was on it for about 8 months before it started to really work, so make sure you give it a chance, but now it has finally kicked in it has really helped to calm down my immune system with my joint pain and swelling making life alot easier (untill the next flare up).

Hi i take meth for the last 5 years i dont seem to be geting eny better, there dose not seem to be a end to it is enyone takeing enything else that might help Iraly need help thanks Kay
