Where should I go to obtain proper medical treatment since the VA Hospital doesn't seems to care?

I have SLE, in which I can not be in direct sun this causes a problem with me severe dark skin discolorations and skin pigmentation on both arms, legs,and I am self conscious about wearing short sleeves under a light weight jacket when dining in a resturant or at someones house, since I reside in Arizona. My body rejects alot of medications that a normal person with lupus can intake. None of these doctors want to put me on any meds, what is my next option in fighting this illness.

I'm sorry I can't help more, but we are based in the UK so don't have a great understanding of treatment options available in your area.
