pain
I'm on Naproxen (250mg anti-inflam painkillers) 3 times a day. It helps. When I have arthritis I have taken extra painkillers (very strong) on top of that recommended by my GP. It's hard to function on them -makes you feel really spacy.
ty ill check into them
I am on tramadol 200mg twice a day. This has up until about 6 m onths ago dealt with my constant pain and aching, but recently they do not seem to be having much effect on me at all, maybe I have just grown used to them now xx
I have been on tramadol, now on naproxen, paracetamol, acupan and recently been trying matrifen patches. So far have had 3 full days with no pain the patches and not many other pain killers, so fingers crossed it keeps up, Not sure but I think we get used to any meds very quickly as nothing seems to work for very long and have often wondered if it the nature of lupus,
Hope you find relief soon xx
I take Tramadol and have recently been given patches of Bupenorphine. These seem to help a bit.
I have been on fentanyl patches for a few years now. I have a tumor in my liver as well as pain from the lupus and other things. Although I've had to have the dose increased, they have worked brilliantly for me. Hope you find something that works for you too xxx
When I was first diagnosed I used to take naproxen sodium (an anti-inflammatory). When that stopped working I began taking ibuprofen (another anti-inflammatory) and sometimes acetaminophen along with it for my arthritis and horrible headaches. When this stopped working for my arthritis my doc gave me diclofenac (stronger anti-inflammatory). I would take it when my arthritis was acting up. It worked for the most part. I would take flexeril occasionally for muscle pain. It relaxes your muscles.
After I began taking hydroxychloroquine I noticed I was pain free for the first time in 4 years. This lasted a whole month. Pain free for a whole month. I couldn't believe it!
When spring arrived along with rain and humidity my pain returned. I'm referring to headaches, arthritic and muscle pain. I guess hydroxychloroquine can't fight mother nature. On sunny days I get headaches. I'm back to taking ibuprofen as needed along with hydroxychloroquine. Whatever it takes. Hang in there. It's a juggling act that we get pretty good at.
