I have issues with dry mouth, metal taste, tender tongue expecially at the tip and mouth sores. My doctor prescribed me a antibiotic called Nystain 100000. Its a liguid. you

it swish it in your mouth and swallow. Also when my lips start to get tender, split or small cut's soares I rub a little on it. It works..

Hope this helps

I often put my own earwax on the sores... they don't like it. It also stops cold sores on your lip if you put your own ear wax on the area that tingles before the sores appear. This is no joke ! x

ive had 3 bottles of nystatin the thrush is resistant to this fluconazole and already tried daktarin gel about 5 times

i know the feeling i brush my tounge as clean as i can get it 3 times a day use croysodol mouth wash and nystatin and as soon as it has cleared up change my tooth brush heads or toothbrush as you can reinfect yourself from them, usually takes 2 - 3 weeks to go.

you should also have your medication and bloods checked to make sure the dose suits you if you white cell count is low this could be why you cant get rid of the infection.

hope this helps also if you have a partner ans snog a lot make sure they havent got it so dont give it back to you.

its been known to really cramp my snogging style.

i know its rubbish but persistance is key.

Hello Rhonda, I had a problem with oral thrush, about 5 years ago now.

My Consultant had prescribed soluble prednisolone to use as a mouth wash for my mouth ulcers. Due to using this, I ended up with oral thrush.

I tried loads of different things including nystatin, and losenges, but nothing worked. When I went back to my Consultant, he said "You need Ketoconazole tablets - but everyone else is too scared to prescribe it" (due to the side effects) I can't remember the dose -in my medical book it says 200-400mg daily. I was very nauseous, and vomited, so had to take anti sickness meds aswell. Then I had the most horrendous bowel spasms, and had to take tablets for that. I think the course of Ketoconazole was for a week. The good news is, that if you can put up with all the side effects - it works! I was completely cured, and have been fine ever since.

Hope this helps.

What is causing the thrush do you know? Here is something I use for oral thrush due to inhaled steroids for asthma (yes I have that too among many other things). Rinse your mouth with a solution of hydrogen peroxide 3% (I don't know how it i sold there in the UK, ours is at 3% solution). Mix the hp with equal parts water and swish all around mouth, spit out. DO NOT SWALLOW. Also dip tooth brush in this solution before and after use. I did it twice a day for a few days and it worked for me. This is an old remedy and doesn't seem to have any side effects (unless you swallow it which you will NOT do). Also, the good bacteria present in our mouths and other places in the body, may have been killed off by some medications so eating yogurt, and swishing around mouth might help, also taking probiotics is a good idea.

Also, this causes some fizzing, so don't be alarmed! Also good for mouth sores.

If your white cells and neutrophils are high your probably trying to fight off infection. Thrush is a fungi but no fun to have. Metal horrible taste can be meds headaches common with lupus. See your Gp or consultant if concernedat least you body is fighting it. Better than to low a count of white cells and. Meds especially antimalarials methotrexate. Very horrible taste .

Eat little often. I found crops the one thing I could tolerate.

Hi Mandiee :0),

from my own personal experience some years ago, having 90% Candidia Albicans (thrush) in my body, I very strongly advise you cut out ALL sugar & Wheat & you should see your ailment dissappear within a few weeks. Either that, or go see a good herbalist. Good luck :0)

I used Daktarin oral Gel for about 2 weeks and that didn't help. But I was following some instruction to soak my toothbrush in apple cider vinegar after every use while I had oral thrush to keep it clean. And the Apple cider vinegar starting killing the thrush. So wash your mouth out with it 3-4 times a day diluted for a few minutes and only swallow some or you might get a stomach. And soak your toothbrush in it.Also hydrogen peroxide works. Also if your thrush is resistant to nystatin the standard anti-fungal. There is diflucan, clotrimazole lozenges, etc. Yeast infections can be different strains and one works better than another on certain strains.Remember you need a powerful dose to knock this stuff out. Small doses will build up a resistance. I've learned from some that Daktarin is too weak for stronger infections. Its more for early signs of infection. Diflucan is suppose to be quite strong and it works for people that the standard nystatin doesn't.

I also forgot that I took two pills of NOW Foods Probiotic-10 25 Billion a day. You can order that off Amazon. Or you can get live plain yogurt and eat that a few times a day but keep it in your mouth for a little while first.
