I know its probably been asked loads of times, but can someone direct me to useful info for my employer? I am newly diagnosed and have had lots of time off work recently. My employer is being quite supportive but I feel it would be good to give them "official info" if anything is available so its not just me giving them info. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Fact sheets or info for employers
Hi- You can actually get leaflets from the arthirtis research uk site which you can print off or order here: arthritisresearchuk.org/art...
If you look on the right of the page theres an option to download the pdf or print.
Also on the Lupus UK site there is promotional info like official leaflets which can be used during awareness campaigns, so if you do plan to raise awareness whether at work or in general, the leaflets and promotional material are free to order....
Hope this helps!
Under s.6 of the Equalities Act 2010 you have to show that you are 'disabled' to get protection under the Act, which can mean you have a right to reasonable adjustments. Being disabled means (a) having physical or mental impairment (b) which has an adverse and (c) substantial (i.e. more than trivial) effect (d) that is long-term (12 months or longer). Anyone with Lupus should really not have a problem with this.
I would use the DWP guidance for employees direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPe... but any decent Union will also have guidance, as will ACAS. This is for employers: businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/a... if you want to let your employer know.
We are currently working on booklets specifically for our members to give to their employers. In the meantime, we do have a range of booklets and factsheets available. If you'd like I can send you a couple in the post to give to your employer?
Just send me a private message or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your address.
There is defentlly a need for leaflets for employers. Would. have been helpful at diagnosis. I work for the NHS and got little understanding from my employer during times of illness.
