First rays of sunshine and did i suffer!! Forgot that my body reacts now. Migraine, prickly skin and fatigue. Slept for England last night for hours! What a bummer i love the sun. So today wore a hat and sun glasses what a difference. |Now i know why when i was a young girl always suffered with migraines in the summer time and skin rashes on arms and legs but no one knew why. I also think my brain fog has taken hold.

I find the migraines are evil... I usually get them for 3-4 days at a time, they are so disabling and make me so very low. I hate constantly having to wear sun cream....and rebel somedays and suffer for it 
You would never believe i'm a 37 year old lol....Just wish i could lay in it feeling the heat on my face.... Never-mind... Not meant to be x
Morning ......Happy Sunblock Saeason! yes this sunshine is so uplifting but so dangerous for us sun sensitives! ugh ...... I love working in the garden and follow the shade around it ... lol. Hat, sunglasses, long sleeves and sunblock are the requirements although I too rebel just to feel the freedom of bare skin....the Hollywood Starlet look ... ooo la la ..... just not worth the aggro of the reactions of rash, brain fog, and migraine. At least we know what to expect in a strange sort of way ...... my friend says I am one of those sparkly vampires from Twilight...... ' a creature that sparkles in the sun (heavy block ), is rock hard, universally beautiful immortal, almost invincible' ..... x

I know just how you all feel !!!! Everyone loves when summer comes, not me.
Don't you just get so fed up looking at other people in their shorts and t-shirts and there we are covered from head to foot.
I have bought myself skiers sunglasses, you cannot drive in them but they are the best, no headaches when I wear these.
I lived in Egypt for 6 years, it was great. The sun seems a lot gentler there and no-one looks at you because most people are just as covered as you are. Also there are so many things to do after the sun goes down you can hide all day and enjoy the evening.
I am seriously thinking of moving back.
Any way life goes on, there is nothing we can do about it so just keep smiling. Do you also find that most people don't understand what happens to us when the sun is out, which is why it is lovely to be in contact with people experiencing the same symptoms.
I have a tinted sunblock from my dermatologist, there is no name on the tube so I can't tell you what it is called but it really works and gives my skin a nice healthy glow.
Tiredness is the biggest issue for me, luckily I work with my husband so I can escape and have a cat nap if I want to, this is how I keep going.

Plenty of factor 50,,in the garden wide brimmed hat,,long cotton sleeves!!Hey the heat has gotta be better for us than the freezing cold,,when sunny at least we can open our doors and windows,,we don't have to go out in the sun,,we can still enjoy the brighter season!!Jello,,keep up with the wide hat,,the sun hates me too,,my skin is bad!!Enjoy what we can i say,x
I'm with Dawn!! Even though sunshine is bad for lupus I love to see it. The rooms are nice and bright indoors and it lifts your spirit..at least it does mine 
Bought my very first sun hat last week, 4" brim that does the job really well, I dont have to walk around with my hand over my eyes any more, not that I do much walking. Have never bought factor 50 as I dont like being in the sun much.....
Dont like winter, dark nights and mornings, they really bring me down so welcome to spring, long may it last!!!
Hi Ladies - what a breathe of fresh air. Yes I have Lupus but I do love the sun. Having said that I can no longer sunbathe, even though I have dark skin. I am paranoid at being out too long - but regardless to the lupus disease or not. Too much of anything can be a bad thing. I have started to wear long sleeves, ie tunics and linen trousers. So as I am mostly covered up - i do not use sun screen as yet. however, I will start to use this on the fresh that does peak out lol! I believe that a little bit of sun or fresh air is good, even though us lupies adapt and sit in the shade! I am more concerned by the UV Rays because of the MMF - which means that you can be more susceptible to skin cancers! That frightens me more than anything!
I love gardening - but I have found that it is even more pleasurable pottering around in the garden late evening. it is still light and warm - and I don't get hot and bothered.
Everything looks better when the sun's out! and yes I have to cover up but it makes my spirits sour!

Thank you all for your comments. I too love the sun and love being outdoors so i will just have to stay in the shade or wear my hat. Fortunately hats look good on me so i might have to invest in a few.
