Good morning - I returned from holiday feeling dizzy and sick and this has continued for 2 weeks. Doctor seems to think it’s a virus. Just wondered if this could be lupus related?

Hi Sarahze. Obviously no one here can diagnose you. My experience is yes; it may be a virus. My experience also is yes it could be lupus I’m assuming that is your diagnosis since you are on this forum? If you are symptomatic any more than a day or so perhaps get another opinion? BTW were you on a cruise? Did you eat foods that were new to you? Were you in the sun? Do you have rashes or a temperature? If you do have lupus, it could be a flare aggravated by having too much fun😂😘MM

Hi. We were on holiday in Menorca. I did have a rash as I usually get one in the sun. The dizziness has lasted nearly three weeks now and no improvement. Doctor thinks it’s a virus, I was just wondering if it was lupus related. I didn’t have a high temperature, but had the chills for a few days.

Years ago I had vertigo and feeling awful. It was winter and my doctor told me I had a flu virus that went to my ears. It was hard to believe. But one morning I woke up and sure enough felt better and dizziness was gone. Since you were in the sun🤷‍♀️it may be lupus flare. Best, MM

Hi, I suffered with these symptoms for years on and off. Just started again a couple of days ago. I’ve literally had every diagnosis and test in the book.

Main diagnosis was Ménière’s disease and also linked to my migraines.

I’ve realised that it’s caffeine related weirdly. I cut caffeine out a couple of years ago and it stopped. I’ve recently been having a cup of caffeine tea in a morning and one in the afternoon… and the dizziness is back! I also have lupus sle, so it must aggravate my lupus as I ache too!

If you consume caffeine it might be worth considering if it’s having an adverse effect!
