LUPUS UK are collaborating with EPG Health in the creation of new patient education resources that will be hosted on the LUPUS UK website and made available to those living with lupus.
The project aims to encourage and inspire confidence in anyone living with lupus, to request and take part in shared decision making with their doctors, to better understand their disease and treatment options, and to engage in self-management.
EPG have requested that one of the volunteers should be a black male lupus patient, to enable the materials to properly represent the lupus community.
To summarise, there will be three volunteers who will be interviewed online. Each of the three videos will cover a slightly different topic area. EPG have a confirmed expert Professor Antonis Fanouriakis, a consultant Rheumatologist at Asklepieion General Hospital and Attikon University General Hospital, Athens, Greece (Involved in the 2019 EULAR recommendations). There will ultimately be 8 clips available for our website, one for each volunteer and 5 videos from Professor Fanouriakis sharing insight on different topics. The recordings will be done remotely and separately for each volunteer, each meeting lasting a maximum of an hour, and probably much less. The meetings are to take place between 27th and 29th April.
