Keeping on the theme of food and drink my friend spotted this one in a park in Keswick which made us smile, not least of all because we were gasping at the end of our walk around Derwentwater to raise money for Lupus UK, which some of you will remember including Kat who wrote a fab poem for us afterwards.👍🏻
I can just hear Lionel singing this version. 😂🤣
Hoping it makes you smile too, especially our SV.🙏🏻 Love and hugs 🤗😘
Brilliant. Nothing like a cuppa whatever the weather or the circumstances xxx ..now Lionel Ritchie song and video playing in my head.
A nice cuppa is the best thing to calm the nerves, revive you, refresh you etc etc. Any excuse will do for me! 😂🤣 I never saw the video of Lionel Ritchie singing that song, but I love the song. 👍🏻👍🏻
Yes me too. Upset? Cuppa, tired? Cuppa, celebrating? Cuppa, too hot? Cuppa. Freezing,?Cuppa. Visitors? Cuppa. For every occasion there is always an excuse for tea. I love the song too. The video was cringe. A blind girl making a clay model of Lionel and he asks is it me you’re looking for? 🙃
Aww, you’re a girl after my own heart Cecily. A cuppa for every occasion. But from what you tell me about Lionel’s video, I’m glad I missed it. It makes you wonder who comes up with these weird ideas. 🥴 Have a lovely day Cecily. Looks like it is going to be a scorcher here. Ideal for a cuppa! 😂
I am now blissfully lounging like a beached whale swigging tea by the pint ( I kid you not). Today we had to take our little Cocker Spaniel Dylan to Cardiff for tests on his heart. It was 36 degrees in the car. As it was 11/2 hour car journey I only had one sip of tea before leaving at 8.30 am. My tongue was literally glued to the roof of my mouth. I have a problem with stress and urge incontinence and finding a loo in the City with Covid measures is just so stressful. I had one glass of water from 8.30am -4.15pm. So since we have got home I am on my third pint mug of tea. Fortunately Dylan does not have heart muscle issues but a leaky mitral valve so he will be on medication for life but we have him home bless him. Apparently our blind, partially deaf little boy fell asleep during his scan and we were worried sick about him lol xxx
Oh poor Dylan, and poor you too doing that journey in that heat! I’m so pleased to hear that his heart muscle doesn’t have an issue but I know from hubby, who also had a leaky mitral valve until his open-heart surgery 3 years ago, that he tired easily and got breathless so I assume Dylan will be the same? Oh I hate having to go on a long journey or be in town for more than an hour for the same reasons you mentioned. It is a nightmare isn’t it? Enjoy your well earned pint cuppas☕️☕️ and you’ll get plenty of exercise traipsing back and forth to the loo if you are anything like me.😂😂 Hugs to you Cecily and more for Dylan and Brodie. 🤗🤗🤗 😘xx
It was horrid. I used to love Cardiff but today all I could think about was my feet were swelling, where was the toilet and the heat. I was trudging so slowly Neil must have walked to the car and back three times . But hey I did it. I wanted to be there for my boy. I have my feet in a bowl of cold water now trying to get the swelling down ready for the sprint to the loo lol Big Cwtches from all of us xxx
I’m sure Neil didn’t mind and it was important you were there for Dylan. 🥰 Feet up now (not while in the bowl of water though) until the loo dash! 🤣 🤗🤗🤗🤗xxxx
Hells bells it has been sheer madness here. I have a Piper alarm and never wear it unless Neil goes out as I have been known to fall through the shower cubicle, head butt the loo and drag the hand basin over. They rang to say as I had not used it for a while, could I test it. Well the damned thing started making a racket, like a high pitched white noise. Both dogs were barking. Neil pulled the wire out of the back to try and stop it. That caused the alarm to call and re call the service. They were yelling down the phone Julia are you ok? Do you need help? Next thing my carer is at the door, are you ok? Now even with the telephone unplugged every two minutes we are getting a “warning there is no mains power”. It is going to be a long night 🤬 xxx
Oh no, what a nightmare! It must have a major fault! My Mum had one and when tested, or she inadvertently triggered it, they just made sure she was okay and that was end of story until next time. I hope you get it sorted soon. 🙏🏻 There must be a better way of having an exhausting night! 🤣 The best of luck with it Cecily. You’ll need to rest up tomorrow after all that excitement. Take care. Thinking of you. 🤗😘
Neil’s blood pressure was through the roof lol I have had it for six years and this is the first time that it has done this. Hopefully the engineer will come tomorrow xxx
Oh I hope so Cecily. 🙏🏻 Neil needs a nice cuppa and one of Horsewhisper’s Rich tie biscuits! I hope you all sleep well. 🙏🏻🤗😘xx
He had a few cups of Glengette and three of my sultana cookies that I made yesterday. He is snoring happily now 😴🫖☕️🍪 xxx
😂👍🏻 I hope you both managed to sleep well, and Dylan and Brodie too. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the engineer will be with you early and get the problem sorted out. 🤞 I’m off to do a class called ‘Young at Heart’ for old dears. It is fun and done to 60s & 70s music. Right up my street. Hoping you have a much better day than yesterday. 🙏🏻 Love and hugs. 🤗😘xx
I took ages to get to sleep..waiting for the next announcement 🥱 but Social Services contacted us and they are coming to replace the entire unit. Phew. Enjoy your class. I used to love my gentle exercise class but the instructors had awful taste in music. One day a replacement stood in and it was amazing, disco divas. The class was over so quickly and I had sung and jiggled my way through it. Much love to you xxx
That was no fun taking ages to get to sleep.🥴 A nice afternoon nap is in order I think. 😴The class was good thanks Cecily. It was all ABBA last week but hits of the 70s this week. As you say the class passes quickly and we must do something right because most of us are glowing with perspiration by the end of it.🥵 Our instructress, Jackie, is a retired nurse and recently turned 60 but looks more like 40ish! Very fit but very aware of the problems and limitations of older ladies, so it is brilliant. I hope it isn’t long until the engineer arrives to replace the unit 🙏🏻 if he hasn’t been already. Love to the 4 of you. Xxxx 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Yes we have a new unit, a quarter of the size of the last one and it is working well. I am so pleased you enjoyed your class I used to love the giggles I had. Hopefully I will return when my leg is a little stronger. I am completely wiped out today so I am doing nothing. Have a lovely weekend xxx
I’m so pleased your new unit has been fitted and a better size too. 👍🏻👍🏻 Yes, the social side of the class is a lot of fun which keeps us going every week. With sheltering for so long I have a stone’s worth of Covid curves to get rid of and many of us are the same. 😂🤣 I hope your leg doesn’t take long to get stronger Cecily so you can return to your class too. 🙏🏻 Thanks for your kind wishes and I hope you, Neil and the boys have alovely weekend too. 🤗😘xxxx
