THE USE OF DAPSONE FOR SUBCUTANEOUS ISSUES

Has anyone else been prescribed the Medication DAPSONE? I initially was prescribed the usual suspect (meds)when I was first diagnosed with Panniculitus in 2018. All of them made me deathly ill. I ran across articles for the drug Dapsone and asked my Rumy if I could take it. She prescribed it for me and voila, no more embarrassing throwing up in the bank lines, or other public places. It works pretty well for my subcutaneous issues. I believe it is an old drug using for skin issueds and leprosy. I was just curious

Yes I went to the Mayo clinic several years ago and one of the specialist that treat complicated high ANA UCTD prescribed it to me for my skin rashes which helped tremendously. I've been seriously ill for 7 years and take Plaquenil, Dapsone, Doxy, Lyrical, Cymbalta and various vitamins. I have good and bad days but at least I'm functioning and able to work. I don't have a definitive diagnosis, my rheumatologist doesnt give it a label but it is starting to affect my kidneys and the headaches are extremely debilitating. Hope this helps.

Hi Goinglong10Thank you for posting ☺️. A dermatologist suggested dapsone you me last year but she didn’t end up prescribing it . It was for urticaria vasculitis. So glad it works well for you ..

May I ask , did it help with fatigue ?

Take care

I’ve found that my fatigue headaches haven’t been affected they are still very much present.

but it softens my subcontaneous tissue to loosen (often my fat solidifies causing painful tension) and the drugs helps to slow this fat from spreading out more.

Hi Tiggy woos. I don't remember that I was prescribed Dapsone as a help for fatique. It was to stem the nodules that I was getting. My Rumy prescribed NAC for the fatique that I was experiencing. So I can't say if it helped (Dapsone) fatique. I take 25mg of Dapsone daily. I noticed that each time I went to the Dentist however(surgical lights),, I would have a serious flare. This happened about two weeks after I had a procedure(root canal, etc.).I had the fevers, chills, no appetite. I need to make an appointment for the Dentist. I am afraid of getting a flare though. There is a lot of information on a Dentist causing a flare. I will try more sunscreen and see how that works.

I am on Dapsone 100mg and 200mg of hydroxychloroquine The results are good.

I’ve been diagnosed since 2009 and I find

my body adapts and then the drugs for Lupus profundus stop working on me. So I’ve often had to change drugs through the years.

So glad your getting positive results!
