I am new to lupus. I noticed today with my Plaquenil, they are giving me folic acid pills. Is that something to do with lupus treatment?

I can't answer your question but with Lupus and Hughes Syndrome/APS it is important to have good levels of folate, ferritin, vitamin D, Vit B12 etc. Also to good levels of thyroid hormones. It may be that your level was a bit low on your blood tests.

Good idea to get a print out of all your blood and other tests as you go along, so you can see changes. But you have a lot happening right now so don't expect to remember everything.

Yes willow, I had folic acid added and ADCAL , which is vit A, D and calcium. Hope you’re resting xxxxx

Hello Willow! I'm also quite new about lupus. I take plaquenil and I also take folic acido pills. They helps me after mtx methotrexate. It's important. I hope the best for you!

Thanks! I was on folic acid while in the hospital, but I was discharged on Monday and no prescription given for it. I do know why I was on it.. 🤷‍♀️
