Yes , I had two letters , text message , from the rheumatologist and the GP .

I haven’t had any letters I am still working in my local shop I thought only being on this I was ok I take 400g a day

There's a surprise, not. Makes me wonder just how or should I say has shares or some sort stake in a company supplying it. In the mean time the world and his wife have been scrambling to get hold of it with no knowledge of the effects and those who actually need it have been having problems getting their prescription.

Sort of reminds me of the old joke of how many people does it take to change a light bulb and the answer is depends on how bright they are. LOL.

Aside from anything how are you doing?

I'm not to bad here apart from going stir crazy. Oh and I have got a appointment tomorrow for a CT scan with contrast chasing the ever elusive kidney stones again after 4 years of high haematuria in pee. Really starting to feel like a fraud and wasting time as all previous x-ray's, ultrasound scans and CT scan showed normal. I only thought might have had a UTI but they checked the pee again and as always high haematuria. I'm sure I'm one of those who have it as normal and I know for many it's not but to be honest I really think that it's wasting valuable NHS time, staff and resources and that as far as I'm concerned this is the last time I let them send me on a wild goose chase.

Im ok, thank you, find it difficult sleeping though must be the boredom , I had a day out to the hospital for a echocardiogram, I felt very safe , a nurse take your temperature before getting in and there’s a green zone completely the opposite side from the red zone where if they have Covid 19 patients are . x

It's a strange thing to say but at the moment hospital appointments are actually really good at the moment if we have to go. I had to go to Endoscopy last month and it was almost empty and so was the out patient departments so no chance of anyone getting close and the staff all had PPE according to what they were doing. I felt safe and was seen really quickly and also had time with the staff, not rushed in the slightest so should be the same today.

Long term use might be protective for severe covid by lowering il-6. This study only investigates short term post infection results.

Hello I think it's too soon to know and it's possible the patients given the drugs were more ill than others in the first place and that's why they tried the hydroxychloroquine.The won't be any real answers for a long time.

I am not surprised of the findings. I was on hydroxychloroquine but had to stop taking them due to keep getting bad chest infections was told that it was probably not helping.

I was on Hydroxychoroquine for 20 years and was taken off, due to possible side effects of long term usage?

I was not given any substitute as apparently I was in remission . Two years on from when that decision was made, I have only had a couple of small flare-ups. I also get chest infections if I have a bad cold, but not as many as I use to have, whilst on the medication. Maybe some truth in what you said.

Although I’m not saying hydroxychloroquine will keep you from getting COVID-19 I will tell you that that’s way too small a study to tell for sure. They are not giving it here unless patients are violently ill. In New York they’ve had great success giving it early on in the disease. Also having been a nurse for 40 years, I can tell you they can skew a study anyway they want to make it come out the way they want. And there’s a lot of political agenda here in the states. Stay safe everyone, use all the precautions you can. But don’t take too much stock in this study.
