Insomnia spell lupus with ADHD.

Not sleeping for last 2 months after hand surgery and finding sometimes meds put me to sleep but I wake and my mind starts to plan things out. I’m in a small lupus flare that started with recovery physio and was on a prednisone taper but that was a week ago it ended and my mind still won’t shut off when I wake to go bathroom. I’m thinking a different route (ADHD) may be my next option. Anyone have this secondary illness and what have you been prescribed for sleep. I’m not depressed or anxious to be on anything for mood stabilizers so not interested in that route long term. I need some suggestions to go back to my Dr. with on Monday and google doesn’t have many sites for lupus and ADHD. Even a suggestion for type of specialist to get referred to would help. I’ve tried a sleep clinic 10 years ago and didn’t get anything out of it. Help 🥺

Hi there I have Lupus but my son has ADHD he is 24 and he takes melatonin to calm his mind so he can sleep, it’s worth a try you don’t need a perscription for this, we get it online and he has melatonin gummies - hope this helps xx

Thank you for the suggestion, I try melatonin on and off but have never noticed it helping me with sleep, but haven’t noticed it calming my mind so I will give that another go. I’m in tomorrow to speak to GP. I’m lost as what to do now.
