Tea tree oils?

Many blessings here, I have a question and I hope some of you great hub friends can fill me in better. I have been reading often of "Tea tree oils", here, and I personally have not used oils. I do use oils for scenting the home, ect. New to the use of them for homeopathic uses. I know I can search the web, and do more reading, and researches, but maybe someone here can help me to the answers .. As typing is problematic, , and reading on line for longer periods of time. I am sure many of you have these complications of our conditions, so I thought I would kindly ask. for your Greatly appreciated advice. Peace and blessings to all. thestormxx 🤗

Storm, idk about tea tree oils, but I was just told to use a mixture of frankincense and walnut oil twice a day on a spot on my back. For four months it would come and go, and the last 5-6 months it’s been permanent. Lightens and darkens. About the size of my fist. I showed it to my rheumatologist 2 months ago and she said she’s never seen anything like it. I was suppose to go on for a biopsy tomorrow but had a holistic type healer (foot Zoner) tell me to do this instead, so a few weeks ago I canceled the biopsy (or postponed it?) I got the Walnut Oil today (Dr. Adorable- silly name, I know) and am waiting for my order of doTERRA frankincense. I’ll let you know how it goes, but please keep me updated on your tea tree oil as well. The Foot Zoner said my bruise like spot (is super itchy and hurts from inflammation) is an infection I’ve had in my body a long time and is trying to find a way out. That’s the spot it’s chosen. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi Brooksidecourt. Sorry but I'm quite suspicious and deeply shocked that any holistic practitioner suggests you cancel a skin biopsy for a suspicious skin lesion and suggests you use oils instead...presumably oils they are selling you.

The idea that you have a long-standing systemic infection that is now channelling out through a particular skin lesion is, quite frankly, nonsensical. And dangerous.

Sorry if this sounds a bit blunt but I'm concerned for you. Skin lesions that are painful, itchy, inflamed and change colour most certainly need a skin biopsy to identify the cause, some of which can be serious. It's also worth noting that those with autoimmune conditions who take certain immunosuppressant drugs have an increased risk of melanoma (skin cancer). Though I'm not of course suggesting that you have this - just that it would be prudent to rule it out.

I would strongly urge you to take the advice of your rheumatologist and re-book the appointment for your skin biopsy ASAP. You need to know exactly what the skin lesion is so that it can be dealt with appropriately.

Again, sorry if this sounds blunt but I'm sitting here shuddering in horror at the 'advice' given by your ‘Foot Zoner’.

Very best of luck...please let us know how you get on 🤞xx

Hi brook 🤗

I agree with the other ladies..please rebook your biopsy especially as the area in question is your back.

Holistic therapies work well alongside medical therapy..maybe u could have the biopsy first n then decide if u want to use the oil? 🤷

I have a lot of skin problems with my back n the most frustrating thing is that I can't see it!! Your rheumy is baffled too so i think u need to know what it is!!

Of course it's your decision ultimately but we're all your lupie friends 🤗🤗🤗

Dearest Brooksidecourt, That sounds fishy to me, about the spot on your back. Please go have that checked out, ASAP. I do not know much about oils, or holistic medicine, i leave that to the talents, but what you posted seems to need more than TERRA. Your symptoms and pain are a sign, your body is trying to tell you somethings wrong!! Get that appointment, and wait on the stuff you ordered. I will always pray for you, .... You situation is greater than my asking about oils. May the good Lord be with you, bless you and guide you down the correct path now. Sincer peace and blessings, please let us know how this goes.🤗🤗🤗🤗 thestormxxxx

Hi, I have to say I'm in total agreement with the those who've said that your holistic adviser was completely out of line suggesting you use his/her approach rather than having the biopsy. I'm not saying this as a put down to holistic healers but and believe strongly that natural remedies have their place in healthcare, but the advice you were given was totally wrong. Please reconsider having the biopsy done xx

in reply to Lizziequink

Lizzie, I told the dermatologist I was putting the biopsy on a possible hold for later. I had one done on my neck last February that shouldn’t have been done (by a different dermatologist), was a waste of time and money, left a tiny scar on my neck, and told me nothing I didn’t already know. I’m really not for cutting myself needlessly. I’ll try this instead. Google medicinal uses of Walnut Oil and Frankincense and you’ll see she was spot on. Thanks for your reply.

I have used a drop of tea tree oil in shampoo for sore scalp and it’s nice smell 😂😂 and blemishes.

I got a locket bracelet (hard to describe) you put these little felt pads in it with a drop of essential oil and it release smell , different pads for different oils, I normally use lavender and at night put it on bedside table. I def think lavender aids calm and sleep. 👍

Hi thestorm 🤗🤔

Firstly a warning!!! NEVER INGEST TEA TREE OIL!!

Apart from that it's fabulous!!

It's essential oil that's distilled from the tea tree..which is a native tree of Australia (I believe).

There r soooo many uses for it..I always have it in my first aid kit along with lavender.

I am not an aromatherapist but I have studied it for many years n have used oils on myself family n friends all with excellent results!!

Tea tree is antiseptic, antifungal n anti viral n can be used topically..drops in the bath..inhaled in steam..the great thing about it is that u can put it on neat without having to use a 'carrier'oil such as almond oil.

So it can go straight on cuts..it doesn't sting!! If u have a cold or flu..u can inhale it over a bowl of hot water to kill virus in throat n airways!!

If you've come into contact with anyone who's sick..u can gargle one drop in a small cup of water..that will help kill any infection before it has a chance to take hold!!

It helps to repel insects..dab a few drops on your skin before any country walks n u won't get bitten by midges!!

It works well for animals too as flea repellent!!

I use it round the house to clean with too..do no chemical nasties to contend with!! For instance a couple of drops in a bowl of water..wipe work surfaces n your kitchen is clean!! Easy!!

It comes in small bottle (10ml) which lasts for ages..in the UK it costs about £4.

I could go on n on but I've run out of steam 😔

If you've got any specific questions do ask 🤗

Thank you Krazykat!!!! That is the best information given to me! Like wikipedia, you are!! My question to you is, what brand do I use, say to purchase at a store, I will ask the pharmacist for assistance at our "wegmans" pharmacy. They do sell it I am sure. I just want to make my list for shopping on Saturday, and wondered about the different brands. Aside from that Your great post gave me Great information. Sorry to repeat.. The oil has so many wonderful uses, I never new it. I have been blind-eyed. So when I get it, I use it by the drop?? For home? puppy? on me and huby? Bath time? how much do I use. Ya, I am a dummy. But you all are full of sweet advice here. I cannot thank you enough!!! How does it smell??? Just curious. And brooksidecourt, has very supportive, caring, friends here, so please listen to them.!!! Humble happy thanks, and blessings for your time , you are all stupendous!!!!! Hugs, peace and blessings Krazykat. 🤗🤗🤗🤗xxxx

You're looking for 100% pure essential oil!! Unfortunately there r cheap versions sold which r not the 'real'thing..so ask your pharmacy for 100% pure tea tree oil.

In a bath u can put up to six drops in your bathwater..then soak in it for at least 20 minutes!!

If u want to have a steam inhalation..three drops in a bowl of hot water..pop a towel over your head n inhale the steam for as long as u wish..until the water cools n there's no more steam.

If u want to gargle put one drop in a small cup of water n gargle away.

On your puppy u will only have to use a very small amount because they have more sensitive noses!! I usually put a couple of drops behind the neck n a couple on my pooch's back just above the tail..that's natural flea repellent!!

U can pop a few drops into a bottle of your regular shampoo..maybe six again..depending on the size of the bottle.

Mouthwash is the same as gargle..one drop in a cup of water n u can rinse with it.

If u want to clean with it just go with what u feel..a couple of drops in a bowl of water will clean work surfaces..or if u r cleaning the floor..add a few more!!

It has a fresh clean crisp smell..however not everyone likes the aroma!!

I'm gonna be cheeky here n say if you're gonna get tea tree oil..why not treat yourself to a bottle of lavender too? That's another fabulous oil that I use n it too has multiple uses..including restful sleep at night..n u can apply it neat for headaches!!

U get a small bottle n when opened it has a dropper top..so when u tip it upside down it will come out drop by drop..making it easy to count out how much u want!

In my opinion everyone could do with having these two essential oils in their first aid kit..it's safe to use on children too!!

Good luck on your quest storm!! 🤗🤗 I'm very happy to help!!

Peace n bright blessings to u 😽😽

Great news, I got the oil at the pharmacy, at 100%, from Australia. Pure oil. 10mg's. So with that, and tomorrow I will be trying all the suggestions you gave me. I am actually excited to try it. How about on our bodies??? My oil doesn't have a dropper. Or in bath water??? I get it for cleaning, but also, can I put it in a diffuser to mist in the home air???? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to do it right, then I'm on my way with it. I forgot the lavender oil, o' darn it. My memory loss found me again. Next trip out though. And you can tell me all the uses for Lavender too. When you have the time dear krazykat. I am very appreciative to you, and everyone here for the insite, and sharing care!!!! Peace, blessings, and RUFF_RUFF from Storm!!!xxxxxxxx💖🐺🐺

Yayyy..welcome to the world of essential oils storm!!

Have u taken the lid off..some dropper bottles have inverted dropper tops so u haven't got the little bit sticking up..check that n see if it comes out in drops..that's how it should be.

How do u like the smell?

U can put a drop on cuts neat..or u can add the oil to some water if u want to wash with it..alternatively u can put a few drops in your regular washing products!! I've actually developed some kind is wierd allergy to water so I don't bathe or shower..however I do stripwash with tea tree n lavender in water..no soap..n I'm usually fresh as a daisy!! 😹

Yes u can put it in your diffuser..start with two drops in the water n see what u think..it will depend on your particular sense of smell etc..if u want to add some more just add a drop at a time until you're happy with it!!

If your bottle has no dropper mechanism in it then it might be a faulty bottle..it should just come out a drop at a time..a little bit goes a long way with essential oil!!

Again with bath water..find what's good for u personally..depending on how much water u bathe in..I'd say try 2-4 drops at first..n see what u think.

Enjoy your oil storm 🤗🤗

N WUFF WUFF to your pup!! Kat 😽😽 xx

Ps..storm is quite big so I'd put a couple of drops at the back of his neck too..as well as just above the tail xx

Sorry I've just read my post back..so to be clear..couple of drops behind the neck n above the tail should do the trick..he might go a bit quiet but that's only because dogs like the fleas aren't really that keen on the smell!! Or u can put it in his doggy shampoo!! 🤗🤗

Totally agree..100%!! 😹😹Xx

Hi Foggy, no worries. I appreciate your concern.

Actually she doesn’t sell anything. One oil I bought through Amazon and one from a company called doTERRA. The Foot Zoner has nothing to do with either company. Her only request is I buy the oils from companies that sell pure essential oils, not cheap imitations. But no, all the supplements, etc... she does not sell any of them.

I’ve researched the uses for both oils after leaving her, and they are used for exactly how she is suggesting, and for what she is suggesting. Maybe I described the spot in my back incorrectly. It’s not a lesion. It looks more like a brownish bruise. Not raised at all, just discolored. I may not have mentioned it, but I did show my rheumatologist, who I know is not a dermatologist, but she said she’s never seen anything like it. I was surprised at that.

I had a different dermatologist do a biopsy on my neck last February. My neck was embarrassingly red, swollen skin, itchy to the point of wanting to scratch to the bone. Burned. My allergist wanted me to have an immune florescent biopsy, but getting to my dermatologist appt, he insisted on cutting me and sending in a chunk of skin. He even said something like ‘I am the doctor’. What did he think my allergist who referred me was? Very arrogant of him. Well, when the office got the test results back they called to inform me that I had ‘dermatitis. No duh! I’m not a doctor and I could have told them that for free! Derma-skin. Titis-inflammation! Yes, I knew I had skin inflammation, but why? And, I asked for the lab report to be sent me (I keep them all). When I got it, I saw the lab had made a note. They suggested I have an immune florescent biopsy 🤦🏻‍♀️. This dermatologist spent my appt more interested in upselling me his skin cancer clinic. I don’t have skin cancer. I didn’t come in asking about skin cancer. I find it very unprofessional for a doctor to upsell you services. He also froze a freckle on my upper chest before I had a chance to say yes or no and I got charged a few hundred dollars for that. The freckle is still there. I never went back to this doctor.

Foggy, doctors are people. And like people, some are good and some are not as good. Some are even horrible. I have some great ones I trust and continue seeing, and refer people to. The bad ones, I cut out of my life. I don’t have time for their foolishness and am sad they already delayed my outcomes by wasting my time.

I understand that Foot Zoning sounds like Hocus Pocus. I’m usually a sceptic about things. But this woman, without me telling her why I was there, or any of the history of what I’d been going through, etc., told me exactly what the doctors had been saying, except that the doctors are still trying to figure it out exactly. This woman did not give me a diagnosis. She’s not a doctor. But, she hit everything the doctors have been checking into, plus one or two other things they haven’t yet. And nothing she does in her practice is invasive, will cause side effects (except that I was sleepy all the next day). Check out the two oils I mentioned and how they are used medicinally. Google them and you will find they have been used for thousands of centuries for these very reasons.

I would never have gone to such a woman, but a friend of mine who is no nonsense referred her to me. This woman was zoning my friend’s husband’s feet, stopped, and looked up at Jeff and said ‘when did you break your shoulder?’ Jeff was flabbergasted! He told her ‘sometime last year’.

Years ago I would have thought acupuncture was voodoo. But my daughter (who has Tourette’s) was seeing a neurologist who was the lead doctor at a local hospital, so she was a really good doctor, Dr. Zollman. Anyway, Dr. Zollman has studied acupuncture and was licensed in it. She told me that most doctors would want to put my daughter on haldohl, (spelling?) which is super heavy duty. Also can leave you with ugly side effects that won’t go away when you stop using it. She explained acupuncture and how it works. Back then, western medicine basically thought of acupuncture as voodoo medicine. And insurance did not cover it (it does now). It was expensive. But of course we’d do anything for our daughter. Dr. Zollman explained it wasn’t a cure, would just alleviate it between treatments. I trusted Dr. Zollman so we did it. It was miraculous! OMGoodness!!! No side effects either. All we needed was an open mind to something we did not know before hand, and a person we knew we could trust to lead the way.

I feel the same with this Foot Zoner, Jeanne. And I’m not sure I would trust anyone who is a Foot Zoner, just like you can’t trust all doctors. But I 100% trust my friend Shannon, who led me to her.

Btw, when we got to Jeanne’s house for my appt., she was just finishing her previous appt. A 6’4 or 5”, about 275lb farmer in overalls, in his late 30’s or early 40’s. Long red beard. Very muscular and healthy looking. When he first came to Jeanne he was on the National liver transplant list. Not so healthy. After coming to Jeanne a few times and following her instructions, his doctors actually took him off the transplant list. They say his liver is now perfectly healthy! He’s just finishing treatments with her.

Another woman thought she had a heart attack and went to the hospital. They ran all the usual tests, idk what they are, ekg? Whatever? But told her she was perfectly fine. The tests showed nothing wrong. She was certain something wasn’t right so she went straight to see Jeanne. Jeanne zoned her and told her ‘you are in heart failure!’ Go directly to the hospital and tell them. Make them listen to you.’ The lady got in her car, headed for the hospital (her husband driving), and died enroute, due to a heart attack.

And as far as the spot on my back being caused by AI meds, it’s been going on for about 9 months now. I’ve only been taking meds for two, so the meds aren’t causing this problem. I would think if my rheumatologist thought it was skin cancer they would get me in for a biopsy ASAP, but the appt was made for two months out.

As far as infections not working themselves to find away out? Of course they do. I don’t mean to get graphic, but isn’t that what pus does? It’s localized infection? Trying to get out? And think of pimples and black heads? Even the lesions you speak of. They are lesions because the infection has localized to a spot, right?

Anyway, thank you for your concern and expressing your opinion. I really do appreciate it because I do feel you expressed it out of concern and how could I not appreciate that? That you would care about me? That is wonderful, and Foggy I appreciate it. If roles were reversed, I may even feel to express concern myself. As I said, I am generally a sceptic. So I totally get where you are coming from. Thank you❤️ 🙏.

I will let you know the out come. It will be a few months out, but I will let you all know.

Ok now I get ya!! 🤦

In the UK we call that reflexology I think..does she work on your feet all the time?

Our feet r like maps of what is going on in the body n the mind n it sounds similar.

My personal motto is 'believe nothing..entertain possibilities' n over the years I've been totally convinced that were interconnected..mind, body, n spirit r intertwined n when there's imbalance physical illnesses or dis-eases develop!!

Enjoy massaging your back with frankensence (spelling?)..it smells lush!!

Kat 😽😽 xx

in reply to Krazykat26

Well, it’s like reflexology, but goes deeper than that. Idk how to explain it. I guess I should find out the differences, because you aren’t the first one to ask me that. (I’m ignorant in this). Anyway, a Norwegian doctor, Dr. Charles Ersdal (idk. I think that’s how you spell it?) studied reflexology deeply, then took it’s benefits a step further? My Foot Zoner, Jeanne Harold went to study with him in Norway for many months, about 40 years ago and has been doing this since.

Thanks for understanding. I really am not a kook (well, maybe I am in other areas?😆)

and I study things out and weigh things in my mind. Even after my zoning experience, I struggled for several days. It was beyond amazing to the point that my logical mind wrestled between what I had always been conditioned to believe, and what I experienced to be true that day. Does that make sense?

Anyway, this is Stormy’s post. I never meant to take the focus off her question and place it on foot zoning. Please forgive me Storm.
