Swollen sore ears after starting mycophenolate

Hello everyone I've recently finished cyclophosphamide intravenous treatment for my lupus nephritis, I am now on mycophenolate 4 tablets twice a day. I have noticed this morning my ears are swollen and very tender has anyone else experienced this? I'm into my third week on mycophenolate and they've literally just upped the dose.

Many thanks in advance 🙏

Hi Northernd,

I too also have had cyclophosphamide but that was about 14 years ago. I've been on Mycophenolate (MMF) for about a year now and the only side effect I get is of the toilet persuasion. Sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks for your reply, I stopped hydroxychloroquine until I get an eye test and been on mycophenolate for 3 weeks so maybe mycophenolate hasn't kicked in yet and I'm having a flare up....theres white nodules on my ear too maybe I should have stopped hydroxychloroquine when mycophenolate had kicked in properly...been very lethargic lately too

Here's hoping you get to the bottom of it, I do remember my consultant telling me when he prescribed me MMF that it's a very very good drug and works in about 95% of people. Good luck and hope all goes well
