Having a nightmare.

Have only been on methotextrate a month and had to stop tak8ng it as got four serious infections and nearly ended up in hospital.

I have informed my Lupus nurse but still very unwell as now the 8nfections have exacerbated my Lupus symptoms and I feel dreadful. I am supposed to be going tonIreland a week today and am so worried as I feel so weak and achey.

On the plus side it is a family holiday so they will understand if I need to rest.

My worry is do I start back on the methotrexate if it has made me feel so bad? Nurse said to delay tak8ng it as I am doing a phlebotomy course on the 13th and 14th May and want to be well enough for that.

Sorry for thevmoan just thoroughly fed up with it all.

Morning, I would try and discuss this with your gp if you can.

Infections when your taking this type of medication needs to be monitored.

Just keep an eye on yourself. If you develop a sore throat then get yourself checked again.

Unfortunately some people are prone to infections , but it’s the ones that don’t get better that can be a concern.

Normally patients are told to stop the weekly mtx dose when they have infections and while on antibiotics - and if you have had 4 in a month that should trigger a review of whether you are to use it at all.

If it were me I'd be saying a clear NO!

That is what I am going to tell my rheumatologist the next time I see her. Xx
