The Good, the Bad and the Ugly; and it’s only lunchtime!

The good news is that the cataract operation on my left eye has been an “outstanding success” according to the Chaplinesque surgeon as he skipped and rubbed his hands with glee. Apparently the vision in that eye is now better than 20/20. I googled whether that was possible because he did seem rather over excited. The “lupus protocol” included pred eyedrops as well as the usual antibiotic ones. I had to have the preds 6x a day for the first of four weeks and am tapering to once a day by the last week. The next surgery is 18 December.

The bad is that with better vision I can see how grey my poor old dog has got 😢The worst is the exquisite pain in my hips and coccyx because I used free NHS transport to the clinic With poor suspension and the state of Leeds roads I might as well have been sitting in a medieval horse and cart going at some speed over a ploughed field.

The ugly? I got home to a great heap of all my papers DWP have copied to me ready for the PIP Tribunal (date not known). I flipped through it and they clearly say they decided to rate me on a reasonable day, not on a bad one. They said I had no medical supervision (?) and gave the same downright lie that I refused a physical. Welfare rights will help me on all of this.

If I’m turned down by the Tribunal I’m amassing a great deal of info that demonstrates how much I’ve gone downhill medically. Since I’m safe on standard daily living and lower mobility (it was enhanced daily living I lost) I shall approach DWP about a change for the worse when the right time comes.

Lunchtime. As ever, don’t feel like any 😂

great news on the cataract, lupiknits. Well done to you and your surgeon. PIP-wise, the struggle continues. At least you can read all the paperwork now ;) x

Your descriptions of your surgeon and the state of NHS transport and Leeds roads are wonderful!

The DWP paperwork not so..... Sometimes I really do wonder about PIP; I don't claim myself and decided not to apply after all the experiences I have read on this and other forums. I can only wish you well.
