Just wondering if anyone else has had their appointment rescheduled at Guy's, I was due to see Prof D'Cruz on 13th July, I had a text this evening and it has been rescheduled for May next year, I am going to phone Monday to see if there has been a mistake. I saw my local rheumatologist in February and as I had a follow up appointment in July at Guy's he said there was no need to see him for a year. How often do others see their rheumatologists?

Really?? That's long time to wait, shocking. I've seen my rheumatologist about 4 times last year and so far come the end of July, twice this year. In between those appointments I've also been seen at the nurses clinic. I've read so much about the waiting times some folk have had to endure, I must be very fortunate.
Oh dear, that is a long time! I'm supposed to see him on July 13th, so far that is still the case. I am sorry for what has happened to you but I really need to see him so hope I won't get mine rearranged. I hope you get somewhere with getting seen sooner x
Hopefully they won't cancel your appointment, I am feeling quite well at the moment luckily, there was just a couple of things I wanted to ask him as my rheumatologist said in his last letter that he was concerned about my anti Dna antibody result was high at 50 but under the baseline of 100, he never discussed this with me, I will ring Monday and ask.

Yes. I also got a message a few weeks ago that my appointment was moved from August to December. I usually see my consultant once a year. This makes it 16 months wait but thankfully I am stable so I don’t mind.
Yes same for me too. I was rescheduled 6 times! My rheumy wanted to see me in 6 months but it was 18 months before I actually got an appointment and found that my consultant had left. I was seen by a new consultant, don't know if he's permanent. x
Sounds like I am quite lucky then, before I was actually diagnosed I saw a consultant at my local hospital, my doctor never received a letter from him and he was very vague, then they told me he just left, what a waste of time that was.

Hi Leesy. I saw Prof D'Cruz in January but saw rheumy nurse Kate 2 weeks ago. It seems to be every 6 months and it's split so I see Prof/Dr in his team at one session and a nurse the other. I heard Prof had to cut back due to too many patients but I would suggest getting one of the rhuemy nurses to call you and see what's going on.

This happened to me too, am under the Prof at Guys as well. I was newly diagnosed and very symptomatic when they postponed my appointment forwarding it to March 2019 so I phoned the clinic (or you perhaps could book a phone consultation online) asking if this was okay for me to be seen in a years time, they rescheduled me and atm am seen by the Nurse Specialist every 8 weeks. I think admin staff are trying their best to fit in more and more patients and this is the effect. Speak to them, they can fit you in if required, you may not see Professor D'Cruz but they try to book me in when he is there just in case they need his advice.

Every 4 months. But 6 if I’m very stable, out of flare.
Mine varies from every year to every 4 months depending on lupus activity. If i need advise i contact the lupus nurse, there appointments are generally within a week over the phone and you can book them online.
