Systemic infections!!

Hi everyone

I've been suffering badly since January although I've had raynauds and connective tissue disease for 6 years. I had nifedipine, lorsartan, hydroxy and even fluoxetine to try and help, all with bad side effects and my guts just to sensitive to meds.

I had an iloprost infusion in January that wiped all my energy, and I've not been well enough to work since last September, so yes definitely depressed with it all.☹️

Anyway a week after the infusion I was getting pain in my right hand side lower back, thinking kidney went to gp, got antibiotics in case of infection and ultrasound for kidney stones, came back all clear. I called rheumy nurse, she insisted it wasn't side effects from the infusion, so back to gp cause the pain was still there!!

Get this!! She suggested I see this new osteopath at the surgery who is private but the first app is free as it could be my back🤔 MY BACK it's not my back I said but ok I'll try anything.

Haha he said it was my spine just by touch (no X-ray) and gave me some exercises to do, although I knew it wasn't my back I tried a few of the easier exercises( walking with a straight back and one where holding on to a sideboard slowly swing you leg forward and back) thank goodness I didn't do any of the hard ones cause within 3 days I was in agony!! I called the osteopath and he said no way should the pain be worse stop the exercise. Why I didn't listen to my instinct I don't know, but my trust in these professionals are now zero.

Still in a lot of pain and all bent over my mum came over to help me and cooked a chicken stew for us,she insists her stew is the best when you're not well, while I was sitting there she handed me a raw garlic clove and said "take this it may help" so I took it. Later that evening I felt odd my legs went weak and I was shaking inside, I was violently sick and had to go to bed, while laying there I remember this has happened before and I had to go to hospital and they put me on iv antibiotics for a serious infection, so I was expecting to wake up in a bad way. After having a bad night of sweats I woke up to NO pain in my kidney (that had been there since January and now it's April) OMG!!

Also while all this was going on I was educating myself on Autoimmune and the effect on the body, and one dr said about the 3'i irritation that causes inflammation that causes infection. Could it be the iloprost caused irritation to my kidney ( toxic overload) that then caused inflammation then infection and the antibiotics didn't work but the raw garlic did (as it's a potent natural antibiotic)

So finally to my point sorry guys for waffling on. All this time I've been suffering with infections ( fungal aswell) urinary track and chest infections also in my gums.

So it's been 2 weeks I've been taking a clove of garlic in morning and evening and feel sooo much better, I think I've got major pockets of infections throughout my body and the garlic is going through my system and clearing it out ( where no antibiotics have touched it) I have been gargling salt water for my gums that had flared up ( not quite an abscess but swollen with infection and bamm last night was violently sick again out of no where and this morning the swollen lump has gone down 👍

So please can anyone tell me if it's possible for garlic to have such great effects? I probably wouldn't believe it if someone was telling me this story.

Thanks xxx

Hi Daisy78,

I am glad to hear that garlic has been working for you, it is important to remember what work for some may not work for others.

The following passage has been extracted from The Lupus Encyclopedia regarding ‘garlic’:

“Some doctors recommend that people who have lupus not ingest garlic since it may theoretically increase the activity of the immune system. However, there really is no evidence that eating garlic causes lupus in humans. In fact, there is some evidence that garlic may actually have some anti-inflammatory properties”.

Hope this information is helpful!
