As a sufferer of SLE and many other health problems sometimes I just feel like giving up.I’m 56yrs old and the last 20 have been hell.Everything I ever worked for is gone, marriage, house health and friends. There always seems to be something going wrong,if it’s not having a heart attack then it’s losing the sight in my right eye( due to no fault of my own). The latest thing is splintering my heel and partial separation af my Achilles.I get so depressed sometimes but somehow seem to keep going. Oh well thanks for letting me go on. Take care all.

Hi jeff61

My heart goes out to you, I know exactly how you feel. I've only been diagnosed just over 2 years and sometimes it's hard, but you soldier on. Don't give up. Wishing you the best. Xx

Yes, keep going. Don't give up. You have had difficult times... but try to be strong and go to medical apps and ask many questions that you want answered. Take a list. Even ask for a double appt to have time to get answers you need to understand. Professionals should help; and can if you ask. All the best to you.

Hi Jeff

It's very difficult when you have SLE and associated illnesses and as you say, people don't understand. I honestly do feel your pain and can relate fully. Keep fighting, you'll get there. X

Uggh, that sounds horrible. Wish there was some solution on offer, but hope you can keep in touch on this forum and feel a bit of togetherness in this struggle. x

Please don't give up, there are people like you and me in the same boat, your eye may require only minor laser proceedure.

I lost my eye sight few months after a catract proceedure, but able to regain the eye sight in a few mts laser proceedure.

At 55, 18 years of suffering, the greatest gift God has given me is my Wife. With her motivation only still I am able to work and earn for the treatment.

We are all with you, think positively, you can go further.

IT is hard to believe that "this" will not go away..I haven't even hit my 1 year DX of Subacute or maybe discoid Lupus..and I am 63...I can not imagine living like this and/or a lot worse than others who have lived decades....My case is minor compared to others...but to myself, it is very wearing on me physically(energy level) and emotionally...I am not complaining because I feel fortunate when I read posts here by others...but compared to non auto immune "sufferers " I don't think they get how drained I get...again, not complaining to all here Xx

I can join you in feeling like this, I have had SLE amongst other arthritic problems for over 25 years now, and just lately I have had enough too. Despite hardly eating anything, I am still putting on weight at a rate of knots!! Still, my heart goes out to you, we will conquer yet again no doubt xx
