What's wrong with me?

My last bloods have all come back normal, yet I still have joint pain, fatigue, Raynauds, muscle pain and mouth sores. My husband and I feel we've hit a stone wall. Rheumatologist appointment on 2nd July. I know I'm not well, but the bloods are now normal!

Sorry I’ve only just caught up with your last posts. I must have missed them thinking I wouldn’t be able to advise or relate - only to have similar issues myself. Have you seen the gynae yet?

I’m the other way around to you in that my inflammation bloods are always elevated and high when in pain. Yet doctors generally shrug this off and I get the impression that they think it’s just me now.

So maybe normal bloods are just you? In my experience of using this and a couple of related communities for over 7 years now - many find that their bloods fail to represent them at all. I think we each have our own normal that is unique to us and the only way that we can understand ours is by following the trends ourselves (print outs of blood results) and not getting too hung up on normal lab levels. After all we are human beings not computers and our own DNA dictates our bloods are as unique to us all as our finger prints. X

I love the way you put that and I couldn't agree with you more. The bit you said,"I think we each have our own normal that is unique to us", I feel is so true. We are all individuals and a low or high test in one person may be totally normal for another or, if bloods are within the so called normal band, it doesn't necessarily mean it's the norm for us, particularly if they results are close to the parameters.

My bloods are always normal , I queried this with my most recent doctor and his response was “normal bloods only show that any disease is not attacking your internal organs , which is a good thing”. The result doesn’t represent a well person

Not sure if this helps you , but it did give me reassurance

Helps enormously! I’m not a hypochondriac then 😁

No you are not, and do not let anyone make you feel that way. You know how you feel, follow that instinct. Every time you get knocked back by a doctor, you get back up and fight your corner

I'm very lucky to have a GPwho recognises that I'm a shadow of my former, ridiculously energetic, self.

My bloods have been normal since day 1 of my disease state. I am still I'll and it's been almost a year and they are trying to get this under control! Fortunately I found a rheum that looks at me as a person and not just the bloods. But it took awhile to get a rheum to manage this situation.

Sometimes blood tests do come back as normal. Another time it may detect something. Doesn't mean you haven't got symptoms. All the best.

Thanks for the reassurance. Of course I'd rather be well, but I was worried I wouldn't be believed if the bloods font show anything. Forum, as ever, has been most helpful..
