Yes yes yes yes yes 😩😩😩😩.

Hi Rach,

My scalp gets so sore and sometimes itchy, I even feel a bump and raised patches but no one can ever see anything, Not even redness. I can feel my skull change shape and it’s up and down weekly for over 3 years now.

I have tried every medicated shampoo, all the ones without sls and also the new 0% paraben ones, which are awful and leave my hair feeling dirty and bad condition. But nothing helps.

My GP won’t refer me to a dermatologist buts that’s mainly because the new surgery I have is not that great and docs seem dismissive. Should never have moved areas as I had the best gp in the world before 😭😭.

I am currently sat here hurting like mad and thinking I’ll ask next time I go in.

If you find anything that helps in the meantime please let me know 😀

L x

Yes - I get that from time to time but find that using Simple or Sanex shampoo helps - and it has improved greatly since I stopped dyeing my hair & learnt to live with the grey !! 😀

I will try the black seed oil as 2 people have recommended it, will see how that goes. I wasnt sure wether it was related to Lupus but seems it is xx

Hi Rach , i have had a tender scalp at times which started affecting my sleep as it was painful/ burning to touch the pillow. Black seed oil was recommended to me and i rubbed it sparingly on sore spots at night and it worked . I don’t know why it worked but ive used it when it occurred again with same success.

Hi Rachel, I get a very sore head normally just to the side area of the scalp. It’s very tender not itchy and really hurts when I touch it. The tenderness stays for approx 3-4days and if I rest up it disappears. I have learnt to live with it. I was diognosed with SLE approx. 5 years ago. I take methotrexate injections weekly, steroids, mepercrine and hydrochoroquine.

Yes mine is the same not itchy just tender. And my hairdresser noticed a tuft of hair in that area that has grown, so i must of had a bald patch and not noticed. Xx

Yes to everything! Have a nice bald patch on right side as I didn’t realise. Nothing has helped and they say it is alopecia scarring. The other side itches and aches too at times but I resist the urge to scratch. The black seed oil helped my friend. Fight to get a dermatologist- it is your right ! We have to fight for so much with this illness. Good luck

Hi Rach,

I do experience this regularly 😔 usually comes along with an excruciating headache and a very blood shot eye. Not at all nice. I use anti inflammatory drugs to help and use special shampoos. Hope your GP can help you with this. Take good care of you Big hugs xx

Hi Rach459

Yes. Sore, tender, awful feeling.

I agree with one of the members reply, seems to indicate need some rest.

I have not used black seed oil, so cannot comment on that. Please let us know if it helps you.

However, I have tried various products. For me, Childs Farm - organic child shampoo works! Leaves my hair shining and bouncy too!

Currently, Childs Farm shampoo can be purchased in Tesco. I got it on offer last weekend, so paid £3. It lasts as I don't put much on. I say, currently Tesco because Lloyds pharmacy stopped selling it.

I suffered alopecia as a teenager. One round patch. Dr prescribed a lotion and it cleared alopecia. Post menopause, I became allergic to hair dye. Burning, itching, sore scalp. I have now got grey hair which people think I dye as my hair is streaked with shades of grey, well cut, glossy, and bouncy! So every cloud.....

Good luck. X
