I started to loose weight a year back and lost 10kgs.I have shortness of breath from more than 2 years. I was getting very weak day by day. Then 3 months back after many tests I got to know a part of my left was shrinking and at the same time i was diagnosed with tuberculosis. I am only having medicines for tuberculosis. I have my tests again few days back, my tuberculosis are negative, there a bit of improvement in chest ray were there was shrink bt my shortness of breath are getting really worse day by day, sometimes i can't breathe at all, i have now joint pains too, and i shake sometimes with my shortness of breath, and yes i have chest pain too. Doctors says it will be all good in few months but with just tuberculosis medicines and increasing shortness of breath will it be ok?

Can anyone tell me what is it?
Hi K Singh, my husband had shortness of breath and chest pain, turned out to be his arthritis and short of lung capacity. If you have tuberculosis you will get a bit short of breath so try not to panic. Sounds like you need more reassurance from your doctor. You can buy small oxygen tubes with a mask not to expensive and perhaps knowing you have one if things get bad will really help you and make all the difference. I bought one for hubby they are very useful.
Good luck.
Hi K_Singh,
Welcome to the LUPUS UK HealthUnlocked Community.
Have you thought about being tested for lupus? We published an article on our blog discussing the specific tests and criteria that are required in order to make a diagnosis of lupus which you can read here: lupusuk.org.uk/getting-diag.... You can request to be tested for lupus at your GP surgery.
Lupus can affect organs such as the heart and lungs; we published a factsheet which discusses this here lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u... .
Around 90% to 95% of people with lupus will experience muscle and/or joint pain. To find out how lupus flares of joints and muscles can be treated, you may wish to read our factsheet on ‘LUPUS: The Joints and Muscles’ here: lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u... . We published an article on our about ‘pain management’ which I hope you will find useful: lupusuk.org.uk/pain-managem...
It is important to bear in mind that lupus presents differently in everybody therefore, it is unlikely that two people will share the exact same experience.
Please let us know how you get on, wishing you all the best.
