Awww first congrats on the pregnancy :-) That is exciting! How long have you have Lupus and how has it affected you? Are you being seen by a high risk doc?

Thank you! Well first I had hyperemisi and then when the sickness stopped I started to feel so achy, joints were hurting and high temperature every night. Couldn't eat anything and had the fatigue so much that I was bed bound. Went to see the gp and all he gave me was paracetamol. So for 3 months I struggled with the pain just taking paracetamol. I came to moms house as Ive a 10 month old and could not look after him.

Then new years day my sister took me to the hospital. Tests were done and was diagnosed with Lupus. I was in hospital for 3 weeks as yes I am a high risk due to my pregnancy. I'm on medication but low doses. Have to go hospital for baby CTG 2 times a weeks and injecting Clexane. I due to have the baby in March, c section. Or before if there are any side effects.

Wow, you are a true warrior!! I will pray for you. Stay strong and make sure to talk to your baby and rub your belly, telling your baby you love him/ her

First of all congratulations!!! I would suggest to you that you try to do a bit of walking for about ten minutes a day. Get in some sun, smile, stay stress free, make lots of love and more importantly , no medication!!

You probably won't have any issues with your lupus in fact once you get past the first three months you should be great!!

Hi there, I was diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) and then found out I was pregnant too! However that was quite a few years ago, but the maternity unit (and my Lupus doctor) kept a very close eye on me and I had a few more check-ups/blood tests than usual. Despite my Lupus issues, I managed really well and although my baby boy was only 5lbs at 34 weeks, he's now a strapping 6'4" lad!! If you are not already a member of Lupus UK, I'd definitely check them out and join up - I found this a fantastic support group - and still do!

Welcome to our lovely group! So glad you found us. Congratulations on your pregnancy! You must be over the moon. Are you tired as well as the extreme sickness? I hope you are being treated very well by your medical team. Please keep us up to date on your progress and ask lots of questions. My lupus was set off by the birth of my 3rd baby so I can’t offer advice on your pregnancy with lupus but there is always someone who will help out by sharing their experience. Take a look at the Lupus UK website, there’s loads of information sheets on all aspects of lupus. And most importantly take care of yourself. Get plenty of rest and listen to your body. Best wishes, Wendy.
