I have had the X rays, the biopsies ,the CAT scan and is happening on Monday. I see the surgeon on Thursday when he will give me results and then I will have the surgery.
What I am thinking about is how will I manage with the op when I'm also dealing with the aches and pains and tiredness of Sjogrens ? I take Hydroxychloroquine and Mycophenolate.
Has anyone done this and do you have any tips ? All ideas welcome !

Make sure you discuss it with the surgeon and the anaesthetist asap - and make sure it is documented. The anaesthetist is the expert for the surgery and post op period itself.
You may find that the current aches and pains fade in comparison to the surgery - a lot of people find that.

I have had quite a few surgeries over the years and can definitely say your body does seem to go into an overdrive survival mode when the other health problems become secondary to the main operation.
As others have said the anaesthetists are usually first class at knowing the best cocktail for you but make sure they know all about everything else you have and the drugs you are on.
My last op was delayed by an hour while two anaethetists discussed the best way to treat me, surgeon just had to wait! It was neurosurgery on my neck and I had the best recovery ever after that one as they took such care as to the best approach.

I think I am a bit wound up waiting for the verdict....but only five more days. Hoping it will all be done before Christmas . ⛄️

I had breast cancer surgery right in the middle of a flare....my shoulders were agony......but after the surgery it was OK. The nurses in the unit were really helpful, lots of little tips on how to deal with thiings ...& lots of giggles in the shower....they wore long plastic macs & white wellies & I sat on a garden chair to be showered....not a pretty sight!
I got on fine afterwards too.
Don't worry ......the anticipation is the worst bit.....it was 13 years ago for me & I still remember the dread as I was wheeled down to the OR....but I'm still here ...cancer free but the good old RD is still hanging about!

Yes it is hard, BB & very frightening...but I just knew it had to be done......so I put a brave face on it...bought a nightie with front buttons(Look at maternity lingerie) & some new slippers & "went for it"!
I had the op in the September & was on the beach in Florida the next May having had the radiotherapy March/April.
I'm a fatalist & I know people react differently, but I tend to put my head down & get on with things....I can't spend hours thinking about nasties...I just want to get them over & done with.
