I'm an old man so haven't anything useful to say about fragmin in pregnancy! But I did have to inject it for 6 weeks earlier this year while i was on hydroxy and around 10mg pred daily, after I'd developed severe phlebitis in both legs. I think the usual thing is to inject into the fat folds near the belly; no doubt you'll be told if you need to do it differently. The needle is short so there is no danger of it going in too deep. It wasn't comfortable - the best were like a fleeting pinch and the worst like short-lived bee stings - but following the instructions and rotating the injection site etc I didn't have any problems or side effects and the bruising and soreness near the sites cleared up quickly. x
Just wanted to say I inject Clexane every day and have done for the last 10 years, I have Lupus like syndrome and Anti Phospholipid syndrome. I can't use warfarin so Clexane works very well for me, over time you get used to choosing the right places avoiding the tiny little thread veins and keeping away from areas where you might have bruised. It's all over within a few moments and just becomes routine and the benefits far outway the small amount of discomfort, I'm no 'hero' with medical stuff but this one is definitely 'do-able'.
