I want Zentiva not Quinoric ☹️

Anyone else having issues getting Zentiva?! I was started on Quinoric back in March but was given Zentiva after my first month by my pharmacy and I really noticed the difference.

Now they can’t get hold of it and I’ve got Quinoric and I don’t know what to do! Are the NHS restricting Zentiva due to cost???

Also I’ve come off mycophenolate as it was making me so sick. I’m back seeing my rhuemy next week any idea on an alternative that’s gentle on my stomach. I also have Myositis which is my priority to treat right now and Hashimotos and on T3 only. My Endo says I’m really sensitive to changes in meds’ and dosage which doesn’t help me much. thank you x

The problem is not with Zentiva, it is with some of the suppliers that pharmacies use. I was told by the pharmacy I use that there was a manufacturing problem. After weeks of this I got fed up and phoned Sanofi, who manufacture Zentiva. They told me there is no problem just some suppliers are no longer carrying it. Here’s the link to the original thread posted on this site. Hopefully you will be able to get your pharmacy to rider it from a different supplier or direct from Sanofi. Xx

Yes I understood that from my pharmacy but they said it was most likely down to cost. So I’m having to just manage on Quinoric until my next prescription where I’ll go to another pharmacist if mine can’t order it in :( x

If you get your GP to put MUST BE GIVEN AS ZENTIVA on your prescription then that is what the pharmacy has to give you. My GP puts this on mine and I only get Zentiva. Xx

I’d already thought of this and my pharmacy advised this also but then I have to find a pharmacy who stock or can get it and when your sick without transport it’s another battle I could do without. Thank goodness pharmacies are beginning to deliver x

My gp said I had to arrange it myself with my pharmacy, they haven’t had any for two months now! X

Unless your GP puts a specific brand then the pharmacy can give you any brand of Hydroxychloroquine. It is only if the doctor states a specific brand that it has to be given.
