Hi all. My mum and me held a coffee morning on Saturday and we raised £310 for lupus UK. So proud of myself. I wanted to chanel my frustration of having this awful condition into something positive. And you know what it makes you feel better. We are going to do another fundraiser next year maybe a sponsored dog walk!! 😊 just thought I would share the positivity xx

Well done - that's a huge amount of money to make from a coffee morning - you are right to be proud of yourself and thank you for helping to make a difference. Smaller charities like Lupus UK don't get the publicity like some of the big charities so getting the word out there about this condition is really important.

Thank you. Yes you are so right. We need more publicity and more fundraiser events. We won't get a cure without. X

Hi Twad . Thank you so much for supporting LUPUS UK with your coffee morning. That really is amazing fundraising and you should be very proud of your achievement. We would be incredibly grateful if you wanted to support us with another fundraiser in the future. If you need any help, please let us know.

Brilliant Twad. This disease takes so much energy and time that it is great to see you able to turn that to the good, especially to helping other people. Well done you x

Thank you all for your replies. The total we have raised is now £536! My grandma died 3 weeks ago and my mum Asked for donations instead of flowers bless her. This is why the amount is now over 500. It has been a tough 4 months for me with having been diagnosed with lupus nephritis grade 4 and being off work plus my beautiful grandma passing away but doing this has really helped me. Any way sorry for waffling. I'm back to work in Nov and can't wait and my bloods are slowly improving and I've no odema. Yeah!! X

Well done on your fundraising. But I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Grandma. Life has a way of throwing everything at you at once doesn't it. 2013 was the worst year I have ever had and led to my diagnosis. So much for self management of our lupus and avoiding stress eh? I hope you continue to make good progress and the return to work goes smoothly. My very best wishes. Wendy x
